The Staff Accountant partners with the Controller in managing the daily operations of the accounting department of the Homebuilding entities.Other duties will be assigned in a progressive manner:Provide essential support to the Controller, ensuring accurate and timely financial reports monthly.Responsible for key reconciliations such as Balance Sheets, Intercompany accounts, and Job Cost information.Assist Controller with annual tax preparation by providing requested information to our tax accounting firm.Responsible for the accounting, financial management, and bank draw process for certain of our development entities.Manage credit card approval and payment procedures.Create and provide ad-hoc reports as required.Participate in the preparation of financial reports for leadership and management.Participate in creating annual budget for various entities.Working closely with Controller to deliver reports, analysis findings, potential risk areas and forecast opportunities.Maintenance and documentation of accounting procedures & policies with a continual improvement approach.Collaborate with the organization on areas to improve business efficiencies and reduce costs.QUALIFICATIONS:Education:Minimum of 4-year Degree in Accounting or related field.Mandatory Experience/Background:3 plus years of accounting experience. Must have excellent interpersonal skills which include, having patience, being approachable, and capable of motivating others. Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment and possess excellent verbal and written communication skills with the capability of being comfortable around higher management is essential. CPA preferred. Must be able to follow and model the Company Core Values – Quality, Teamwork, Integrity, Respect, and Commitment.Desired Experience/Qualifications:Experience in Construction and/or Development companies. Proven ability to build strong business relationships/partnerships. Proficient in Microsoft 365 and Sage 300 or similar.Physical Requirements:Must be able to lift and carry up to 10 pounds.
