Responsibilities:
We have an immediate opening for a Senior Staff Accountant to join our Corporate Finance team, based in the Downtown Houston office. As a key player in the team’s operations, this individual should be conscientious about their role and possess a strong “can-do” customer service attitude. The SeniorStaff Accountant will have the following responsibilities:
Responsibilities
Oversee U.S. and international tax compliance, including coordination with external advisors and review of filings
Analyze financial results and investigate variances
Assist with consolidation of multiple entities and intercompany transactions
Support internal and external audit processes by preparing schedules and documentation
Assist with special projects, system implementations, and process improvements
Perform and oversee general ledger accounting, including journal entries and complex account reconciliations
Partner with cross-functional teams (payroll, tax, operations)
Communicates frequently with CFO, Controller and Assistant Controller
Manage Staff Accountant(s) for Latin America
Mentors other Finance Team personnel on priority projects and other areas of accounting
Maintain and improve internal controls and accounting procedures
Ad hoc financial analysis projects
** This role is a hybrid position.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance
Minimum of 7-9 years’ experience in an accounting role
Prior experience mentoring or supervising staff accountants or junior team members
Advanced knowledge of accounting principles
Good working knowledge of tax rules and regulations with the ability to apply these rules to transactions in a professional services firm
Experience working within a dynamic multi-country team in a professional services firm
Ability to work independently, multi-task, establish priorities and organize efficiently in a fast-paced environment
Exceptional oral/written communication skills with ability to interact professionally with diverse groups
Proficient in MS Office Suites – Advanced Excel
Fluency in both English and Spanish is preferred
