Senior Staff Accountant - Burlington, MA
We are seeking candidates for a Senior Staff Accountant position with a fast-growing home healthcare organization located outside of Burlington, MA. The Senior Staff Accountant will report to the Corporate Controller and CFO. This position will be responsible for the accounting and financial reporting processes. The ideal candidate will have 3+ years of accounting experience with strong hands-on experience through the month-end close and financial statement preparation.
This is a contract-to-hire position that will pay $30-40/hr (depending on experience). This position supports a hybrid work model, onsite 4 days per week, remote 1 days per week.
Responsibilities:
Perform full-cycle month-end and year-end close processes, ensuring timely and accurate completion of all accounting activities.
Prepare, review, and analyze monthly financial statements, including income statements, balance sheets, and variance reports.
Produce financial reporting for approximately 15 locations, ensuring consistency and accuracy across entities.
Maintain and reconcile the General Ledger, ensuring all transactions are properly recorded and supported.
Complete monthly bank and account reconciliations, researching and resolving discrepancies as needed.
Manage Accounts Receivable processes, including invoicing, cash application, and regular A/R aging reviews to ensure timely collections.
Record and monitor prepaids and accruals, ensuring accurate expense recognition and compliance with accounting standards.
Support external audits and internal compliance activities by preparing schedules and providing requested documentation.
Assist in strengthening internal controls and identifying opportunities for process improvements and increased efficiency.
Collaborate with cross-functional teams to gather financial information and support operational decision-making.
Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance required.
3+ years of progressive accounting experience with demonstrated responsibility in financial reporting and close processes.
Experience in health services or the healthcare industry is a plus.
Proven experience preparing and analyzing financial statements.
Proficiency with QuickBooks Pro and Bill.com is highly preferred.
Advanced Excel skills, including Pivot Tables and data analysis functions.
Experience managing the full accounting close cycle in a multi-entity or multi-location environment preferred.
Strong attention to detail with excellent organizational and time management skills.
Effective communication and problem-solving abilities with a collaborative mindset.
