The Opportunity

We are seeking aSenior Sourcing Manager who will function as a regional spend owner and strategic supply chain leader within a fast-moving, field-operations-driven environment. This is not a transactional procurement role. You will directly influence project profitability, operational execution, and the long-term competitive positioning of GSI's supply chain.

You will mentor Sourcing Managers, own regional savings initiatives, and serve as the bridge between Proposal Development and operational Planning — connecting commercial strategy to field execution with precision and speed.

This role carries broad, company-wide visibility. High performers here advance.

Location: Westminster, CO

What You Will Own

Strategic Procurement & Regional Spend Management

  • Lead regional spend management and drive companywide cost savings goals with measurable accountability
  • Develop and own regional savings initiatives from identification through execution
  • Serve as Subject Matter Expert and Regional Trainer for GSI's standardized procurement processes and platforms

Proposal & Planning Support

  • Secure, analyze, and validate supplier quotations for materials, subcontracts, logistics, and rental equipment
  • Support proposal development with accurate, competitive cost inputs that improve win rates and protect margin

Operational Execution

  • Build project budgets and calculate material take-offs with precision
  • Negotiate price and commercial terms with suppliers and subcontractors — driving best value, not just lowest cost
  • Select suppliers, issue Purchase Orders, and coordinate seamlessly with Project Managers, Superintendents, Operations Managers, Regional Directors, Warehouse, and Equipment Teams
  • Reduce downtime, optimize logistics, and coordinate equipment movement across regions
  • Actively manage the equipment rental process to minimize cost exposure
  • Maintain preferred supplier relationships and proactively manage commodities to improve service and reduce project drag
  • Ensure full compliance with DBE requirements and mill certifications
  • Resolve accounting discrepancies with speed and ownership

Team Leadership

  • Provide guidance and mentorship to Sourcing Managers; model best-in-class procurement behavior and strategic judgment
  • Elevate team performance through structured coaching and accountability

What You Bring

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain/Logistics, or a directly related field from an accredited four-year institution
  • 5+ years of experience in a procurement support or sourcing function — ideally in a project-based, field operations, construction, or infrastructure environment
  • Demonstrated ability to negotiate commercial terms and achieve quantifiable cost savings
  • Familiarity with Lean Principles, Max/Min Inventory, Supplier Scheduling, and Planning concepts
  • Strong interpersonal and stakeholder management skills — you know how to influence without authority
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel proficiency (pivot tables, financial modeling, cost analysis)
  • Proven ability to operate with urgency and precision in a dynamic, deadline-driven environment

Preferred

  • Experience with Viewpoint or comparable ERP/procurement platforms
  • Background in geotechnical, construction, infrastructure, or heavy civil sectors
  • Track record of building and institutionalizing procurement processes, not just following them

Exceptional candidates — the ones we are hiring — proactively identify cost reduction opportunities, challenge assumptions in supplier quotes, build supplier relationships that give GSI a competitive advantage, and mentor their teammates to do the same. They bring strategic thinking to what others treat as a transaction, and they measure their success in dollars saved, downtime reduced, and margin protected.
