Senior Software Engineer

Job Title: Senior Software Engineer
Location: San Jose, CA
Type: Contract
Compensation: $65- $73/hr
Work Model: Onsite
Hours: 9am - 5pm

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute comprehensive test plans and strategies for embedded software, firmware, and hardware-integrated products.
• Analyze requirements and create detailed test cases, test plans, and test protocols.
• Perform manual and automated testing of embedded systems, especially HW and SW/FW, and document results.
• Troubleshoot defects, perform root cause analysis, and verify outcomes.
• Use command-line tools, log files, physical probing, and other electrical or mechanical test methods as needed.
• Prepare clear and accurate test reports summarizing execution results, defects, trends, corrective actions, and verification outcomes.
• Collaborate with engineering, quality, and project teams to ensure testing activities align with project timelines and quality standards.
• Continuously improve testing methods and overall product quality.

Requirements

• Analyze requirements and create detailed test cases, test plans, and test protocols.
• Manual and automated testing experience with embedded systems, including hardware and firmware.
• Troubleshoot defects and conduct root cause analysis.
• Use command-line tools (nice to have).
• Working knowledge of C++ and C# (nice to have).
• FDA product experience and regulatory knowledge (510K submissions) (nice to have).
• Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Computer Engineering, or related field preferred.
• Minimum 2-5 years of relevant experience.
• Attention to detail and ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
