Position Overview
An established aerospace and defense engineering organization is seeking a Senior Slip Ring Design Engineer to support the development of high-reliability electromechanical products used in demanding applications. This onsite role offers the opportunity to lead product design efforts from concept development through production support while collaborating with multidisciplinary engineering teams.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and execute mechanical, thermal, and electrical design solutions for advanced slip ring assemblies and related electromechanical products.
  • Translate customer requirements and technical specifications into practical engineering designs.
  • Lead design activities from proposal and concept phases through detailed design, analysis, documentation, manufacturing support, and testing.
  • Create and maintain engineering drawings, models, and technical documentation.
  • Perform engineering analyses, including finite element analysis (FEA), to validate product performance and reliability.
  • Serve as a technical point of contact for customers and suppliers throughout project execution.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing, quality, design, and technical documentation teams to ensure successful product development.
  • Participate in research and development initiatives to enhance existing technologies and drive innovation.
  • Conduct design reviews and provide technical guidance to ensure accuracy, completeness, and manufacturability.
Work Schedule
  • Onsite position
  • Monday through Thursday: 9-hour shifts
  • Half-day Fridays
Required Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Aeronautical Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience designing and analyzing precision rotating electromechanical equipment.
  • Strong background in mechanical design and design for manufacturing/assembly.
  • Experience using CAD and CAE tools.
  • Experience performing finite element analysis (FEA).
  • Proficiency applying and interpreting Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing (GD&T).
  • Experience reviewing engineering designs and documentation for quality and accuracy.
  • Knowledge of machining processes, manufacturing methods, and drafting standards.
  • Understanding of electrical engineering principles.
Preferred Qualifications
  • Experience designing products for harsh or rugged operating environments.
  • Experience with electronic packaging and assembly integration.
  • Familiarity with military standards and defense-related requirements.
  • Knowledge of MIL-SPEC environmental testing and qualification processes.
  • Experience with Siemens NX (UG NX).
  • Experience using ANSYS simulation tools.
