HDR is an equal opportunity workplace and an affirmative action employer.HDR is looking for a Senior Civil Engineer to join our Building Engineering Services (BES) team in the Folsom or Walnut Creek, CA office. The ideal candidate has proven experience delivering projects from planning through construction and will lead site civil engineering design for facilities across various markets. The role requires self-motivation, collaboration, and strong leadership to deliver high-quality engineering designs.Responsibilities Civil Engineer Of Record (EOR) in responsible charge of preparation of specifications and civil engineering plans for construction.Lead small project teams of civil engineers and designers, providing technical expertise and project oversight.Design and production leadership for general civil engineering tasks, including site layouts, grading and drainage, paving, site utilities, and related activities.Prepare stormwater management designs, calculations, and reports to meet local government standards.Oversee EIT and civil coordinator tasks such as Civil 3D production, engineering, and quantity calculations.Conduct quality control design reviews on multidisciplinary projects from a civil perspective.Perform complex assignments with judgment on engineering techniques and procedures.Serve as a technical expert in an area of specialization to resolve problems of greater scope and complexity.Plan and develop projects or design activities with significant impact on major company programs as needed.Plan, organize, and supervise the work of a medium to large staff of professionals and technicians as needed.Occasionally serve as a Project Manager on small to mid-sized projects as needed.Perform other duties as needed.Preferred Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Civil EngineeringCalifornia Civil Professional Engineer (PE) licenseExperience in mentoring and training Civil EITs and civil designersExperience with AutoDesk Civil 3DProject Engineering and Project Civil Lead experienceExperience with Microsoft Office applications, WaterCAD, StormCAD, and other civil engineering software; Bluebeam is commonly usedWillingness to work with and lead project teamsSupervisory experienceIn-person office cultureRequired Qualifications Bachelor's degreeA minimum of 10 years design experience managing various civil/site design projectsRequires professional engineering license recognized by the licensing board for the location of the position offered (e.g., PE or P.Eng)Project Engineering and Project Management experienceActive participation in an employee-owned cultureWhat We Believe HDR is our company.
