Location Cleveland OHCleveland‑Cliffs Steel has an immediate opportunity for a Senior Shift Manager Maintenance in the Plant Services & Logistics department at the Cleveland OH facility. The Senior Shift Manager Maintenance is a front‑line supervisory role responsible for leading day‑to‑day infrastructure and facility maintenance activities to ensure a safe reliable and continuously improving operation.Summary of ResponsibilitiesLead and supervise hourly employees HVAC technicians Maintenance Technician Mechanical MTMs Maintenance Technician Electrical MTEs and contractors supporting plant HVAC utilities and facility maintenance activitiesDirect maintenance inspection and repair of HVAC systems including industrial heating ventilation air handling units exhaust systems ductwork chillers boilers cooling towers and associated controlsEnsure HVAC systems support safe operating conditions environmental compliance temperature control ventilation and air quality standards across production and support areasSupervise maintenance of general plant plumbing systems supporting HVAC and facility operationsDevelop scopes of work for HVAC and infrastructure projects support vendor bidding processes and conduct pre‑bid walkthroughs as neededManage maintenance spending by planning work tracking costs and submitting purchase requisitions for HVAC equipment parts tools materials and contracted servicesTrain coach and hold employees accountable to company safety environmental energy efficiency and operational standardsCollaborate with Operations Maintenance Engineering Purchasing Environmental Continuous Improvement vendors and peer supervisorsProvide supervisory coverage across departments as neededThe role operates within a 247 manufacturing environment and must respond effectively to changes in operational priorities which may include rotating shifts weekends and emergency response coveragePerform other duties as assignedMinimum QualificationsHigh School Diploma GED or equivalent.Minimum three 3 years of supervisory or lead experience in HVAC mechanical maintenance utilities or an industrialmanufacturing environment.Working knowledge of industrial or commercial HVAC systems including heating ventilation air handling exhaust and cooling equipment.Basic working knowledge of facility infrastructure systems such as buildings plumbing and general facilities maintenance.Basic computer proficiency including Microsoft Word and Excel.Ability to work safely in an industrial environment including outdoors at heights and around uneven surfaces.Applicants must be legally authorized to work in the United States on a full‑time basis.Preferred QualificationsBachelors Degree in Engineering Facilities Management Business Management or related field.Journeyman‑level HVAC experience or formal HVAC technical training.Experience in a steel mill or heavy industrialmanufacturing environment.Experience supervising or working with a unionized workforce.Knowledge of building automation systems BAS HVAC controls or energy management systems.Knowledge of underground infrastructure systems including storm sewers excavation and trenching.Relocation assistance is not provided for this position.The salary range for this role is 70000 to 110000.
