Job Summary
The Nevada Department of Transportation is hiring for a Senior Safety Specialist, Consultation located in Carson City, NV. The primary duty for this position is to design, develop, and deliver a broad range of safety and health training across NDOT, ensuring employees at all levels receive effective instruction on regulations, hazard abatement, risk management, and safe work practices. This includes conducting training at worksites and centralized locations, maintaining curriculum and lesson plans, and ensuring training records, reports, sign in sheets, and compliance documentation are accurately managed within statewide systems such as SharePoint and the LMS (Neogov). The position serves as a liaison with the NDOT Training Section, participates in safety committees, and supports internal staff through clear communication, meeting documentation, and responsive coordination. Manages and safely transports audiovisual equipment, establishes appropriate training environments, and maintains statewide databases related to safety programs such as respiratory protection. The position regularly collaborates with project teams, provides updates, resolves issues, and ensures timely responses to email and phone communication. Safety Specialists, Consultation promote and consult on recognized safety practices for a single State agency, a regulatory program directed toward external entities, or in the State's Risk Management Division.
