Senior Residential HVAC Retrofit Lead Technician

Role Snapshot
- Own the end-to-end installation, retrofit, and replacement of residential HVAC systems.
- Lead a small crew, mentor Install Helpers, and set the quality bar on every job.
- Deliver superior customer service while maintaining impeccable safety and compliance.
Core Responsibilities
- Execute precise installs, upgrades, and replacements for residential HVAC equipment.
- Cut, thread, and connect copper or PVC piping; execute high- and low-voltage wiring.
- Train and coach Install Helpers in both field and shop settings.
- Engage homeowners professionally; resolve issues and ensure satisfaction.
- Lift, carry, and maneuver equipment and materials over 50 pounds as needed.
- Maintain a clean, organized inventory of tools, parts, and vehicle.
- Work at heights and in tight spaces (including attics) through varied weather conditions.
- Comply with appliance standards, the Occupational Health and Safety Act, and company service standards.
- Perform additional duties as assigned.
Must-Haves
- Minimum 1 year of experience as an HVAC Lead Installer in residential settings.
- Valid driver’s license and a clean driving record.
- EPA certification (environmental compliance required).
- Expert troubleshooting and strong critical-thinking skills for complex HVAC problems.
- High-energy, proactive attitude with an unwavering focus on quality.
- Customer-centric communicator who resolves concerns effectively.
- Professional, collaborative, and capable of working with stakeholders at all levels.
- Flexible, innovative, and effective in fast-changing environments.
Working Conditions & Physical Demands
- Frequently lift 50 lbs; occasionally lift up to 100 lbs.
- Climb ladders; enter attics and crawlspaces; push, pull, carry, and use hand tools for detailed work.
- Drive to jobsites daily.
- Work indoors/outdoors, including in attics and crawlspaces.
- Stand, walk, sit; communicate in person and via telephone.
- Use hands to handle or feel tools/controls; reach with hands and arms.
- Regularly stoop, kneel, bend, and crouch.
- Operate in extreme temperatures (heat/cold) and adverse weather (wind, rain, ice, snow).
