Job Summary

The Immunology Center of Georgia at the Medical College of Georgia at Augusta University is seeking a Senior Research Scientist faculty position. This position will focus on the immunology of human cardiovascular disease within the Immunology Center of Georgia.

 

The successful candidate will conduct research projects aligned with IMMCGs human research initiatives. Primary responsibilities include:

• Recruiting and consenting research participants • Maintaining and managing clinical samples • Reviewing electronic medical records • Supporting other activities related to ongoing clinical research projects within the Center

 

The candidate will also be expected to publish peer-reviewed scientific manuscripts, present research findings at national and international meetings, and develop NIH and foundation grant applications to support their clinical research program.

 

This position does not meet the requirements to be on a tenure track.

 

Responsibilities

 

Research - 75%

• Design, conduct, and support basic, translational, & clinical research studies in accordance with approved protocols • Perform experiments and data collection using established and emerging research methodologies • Analyze and interpret research data using appropriate statistical and analytical tools • Maintain accurate, complete, and timely research records (e.g., lab notebooks, databases, regulatory files) • Troubleshoot experimental procedures and contribute to method development and optimization

 

Grant, Funding Support, & Publications - 25%

• Assist with preparation of grant proposals, progress reports, and renewals • Track research milestones and deliverables associated with funded projects • Contribute to budget justifications and resource planning related to research activities • Publish in peer-reviewed scientific papers & present at meetings

 

Required Qualifications

 

PhD or equivalent from an accredited college or university with at least five years research experience.

 

Shift/Salary/Benefits

 

This position is fiscal year based and works year-round.

The Medical College of Georgia (MCG) is one of the nations largest medical schools by class size, with 304 students per class.
