Senior Regulatory Matters and Licensing Specialist

We are a leading national consumer finance company with a 15-year legacy of stability and success. Following our recent acquisition and the appointment of a new CEO, we are entering a transformative chapter, pivoting toward a high-growth, tech-forward, and entrepreneurial future.

We are seeking a Senior Regulatory Matters and Licensing Specialist to lead the maintenance, and renewal of company licenses across all 50 states and the District of Columbia while serving as a key liaison with regulatory agencies. This role is responsible for managing regulatory examinations, maintaining NMLS records, supporting legal and securitization activities, and ensuring the organization remains compliant with all applicable licensing requirements.


Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, obtain approval for, and submit all new and renewal license applications for required state and federal licenses.
  • Manage annual licensing reports, Secretary of State registrations, and corporate bond requirements.
  • Serve as the primary point of contact for regulators regarding licensing matters, state examinations, and compliance inquiries.
  • Coordinate and draft responses to regulatory examination requests and support exit interviews with state agencies.
  • Maintain comprehensive records related to licensing applications, renewals, examinations, and regulator communications.
  • Administer and maintain NMLS accounts for all company entities, ensuring information remains accurate and current.
  • Support legal and regulatory initiatives, including securitization activities requiring licensing approvals and regulatory filings.
  • Research state licensing requirements, regulatory changes, and applicable laws to ensure ongoing compliance.
  • Lead special projects related to licensing, regulatory affairs, and compliance initiatives.
  • Mentor and provide guidance to junior licensing and administrative staff while serving as a subject matter expert.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Legal, Compliance, Operations, and senior leadership to support business objectives.
  • Perform other duties as required or assigned.

Qualifications

  • Experience: Minimum of 4+ years of experience in the consumer finance lending or collection agency industry working with licensing and regulatory requirements.
  • Industry Knowledge: Strong understanding of state licensing requirements, regulatory examination processes, NMLS administration, and consumer finance regulations.
  • Education:
    • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university required.
  • Ability to independently research regulatory requirements and interpret applicable laws.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple deadlines and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality and exercise sound judgment.
  • Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office applications, including Outlook, Word, and Excel.
  • Experience working with regulatory agencies and licensing systems preferred.

Location & Work Schedule

  • Location: Remote opportunity or hybrid role based in our Chadds Ford, PA, Tempe, AZ, or Coppell, TX offices.
  • Schedule: Monday through Friday, with flexibility as needed to meet business and regulatory deadlines.
