Job Summary:
The Senior Quality Technician is responsible for performing inspections and ensuring that all product specifications meet regulatory and internal quality standards. This role supports manufacturing operations by conducting mechanical and visual inspections of materials, finished products, tooling, and processes to ensure compliance with IDEV documentation and regulatory requirements.
The technician works closely with engineers and supervisors to identify quality issues, document inspection results, and support solutions to manufacturing challenges. The role also involves developing inspection routines, maintaining quality documentation, and ensuring adherence to quality standards within a regulated manufacturing environment.
Key Responsibilities:
Perform routine and First Article inspections of procured materials, manufactured products, tooling, and processes.
Conduct mechanical and visual inspections following IDEV documentation including drawings, specifications, procedures, workmanship standards, and RIIs.
Create and document inspection routines and instruct team members on the operation and use of measurement equipment.
Maintain documentation including Device History Records (DHRs) and inspection log sheets.
Document non-conformances to support yield tracking and quality reporting.
Analyze inspection results and develop solutions for quality issues of moderate scope and complexity.
Collaborate with supervisors and engineering teams on quality recommendations and corrective actions.
Ensure inspection activities and documentation meet regulatory and quality compliance standards.
Required Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent.
Minimum four years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience performing quality inspections and working with inspection equipment.
Strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to perform basic arithmetic calculations and follow written instructions in English.
Nice-to-Have Experience:
At least three years of inspection experience in a medical device or related manufacturing environment.
Certifications such as Certified Mechanical Inspector (CMI), Certified Quality Technician (CQT), or equivalent.
Experience working with manufacturing ERP systems.
