    Job Summary

    The Clean Room Quality Technician supports customer-specific quality requirements and clean room manufacturing operations. This role is responsible for inspection, testing, process verification, and quality documentation activities to ensure compliance with internal requirements, customer specifications, and the Quality Management System.

    Working closely with Production, Engineering, and Quality Engineering, this position serves as the primary Quality resource for clean room operations, supporting issue resolution, containment activities, inspection systems, and continuous improvement initiatives for current and future clean room programs.

    Job Responsibilities

    Perform receiving, in-process, and final inspections in the clean room to verify product meets internal requirements, customer specifications, and applicable regulatory standards.

    Follow clean room gowning, PPE, contamination control, and housekeeping requirements to maintain a controlled manufacturing environment.

    Perform quality testing and product verification using approved methods and equipment, including mechanical, dimensional, surface, and cleanliness testing (such as peel, tensile, torque, dyne, particulate, and dimensional inspections).

    Use inspection and test equipment including Keyence systems, Instron equipment, microscopes, calipers, gauges, and other approved measurement tools to verify product conformance.

    Monitor product quality during production through SPC, routine inspections, and process verification activities, and work closely with Production and Engineering to address nonconforming conditions and support corrective actions.

    Identify, document, and help coordinate containment of nonconforming material, including internal rejects, supplier issues, quarantine activities, and NCR documentation as required.

    Review and analyze inspection and test results, generate required reports, and maintain inspection logs, test reports, Certificates of Analysis (COAs), traceability records, and other required documentation in accordance with company and customer requirements.

    Perform Layered Process Audits (LPAs), 5S verification, clean room audits, and other quality system checks to support compliance and continuous improvement.

    Support calibration activities for clean room inspection and test equipment, assist with maintaining SOPs and work instructions, and provide support for PPAP, validation, and other quality initiatives as needed..

    Skills & Competencies

    Experience using measurement and inspection tools such as calipers, micrometers, gauges, optical systems, microscopes, and Keyence equipment

    Experience using Instron or similar testing equipment preferred

    Working knowledge of SPC, Control Plans, sampling plans, and GD&T

    Understanding of clean room practices, contamination control, and required gowning / PPE expectations

    Strong attention to detail with accurate documentation and recordkeeping skills

    Ability to identify quality issues, support investigations, and coordinate containment activities

    Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook

    Good analytical, problem-solving, and organizational skills

    Ability to communicate effectively and work well with other team members

    Preferred Qualifications

    High school diploma or equivalent required

    Associate degree, technical certification, or related training in Quality, Compliance, or a similar field preferred

    Two or more years of experience in manufacturing quality or a related technical role preferred

    Experience in automotive, medical device, or clean room manufacturing environments preferred

    Experience with particulate testing, cleanliness verification, or contamination control is a plus

    Experience supporting PPAP, validation activities, and customer-specific quality requirements preferred

    PHYSICAL DEMANDS:

    The position involves regular work in both office and production environments, with significant time spent in clean room manufacturing areas. The role will require wearing required personal protective equipment (PPE), clean room gowning, and other protective equipment as designated by company policy. The position may require standing or walking for extended periods of time, as well as frequent use of hands and fingers for operating inspection equipment, handling materials, completing testing activities, and data entry. The position may require lifting objects weighing up to 25 pounds. Much of the work will involve using a computer to manage records, generate reports, and communicate with internal teams, suppliers, and customers.
