Description ROLE Key focus of this role will be to coordinate structured root cause analysis in relation to problem solving customer, supplier and internally generated issues. Additionally, internal auditing both from a business process and manufacturing compliance perspective will be a major activity.
High standards of customer engagement will be an essential part of maintaining existing and securing new market/business opportunities, along with supporting group standardization initiatives aimed at underpinning future scalability.
Although the role will be reporting to the regional director, the individual will be expected to operate at a level that regularly interacts with senior management of the site.
QUALIFICATIONS Degree level Engineering qualification preferred but not essential Internal or Lead Auditor to ISO9001

RESPONSIBILITIES Underpin the achievement of ISO9001, ensuring standards are compliant, maintained and meet with business needs in support of a more robust infrastructure
Support Quality department on going maintenance and upkeep of the business management system to ensure the Company maintains compliance to ISO9001 and other subscribed requirements
Play an active role coordinating multi-functional projects for business system continuous improvements
Performing internal audits to proactively determine quality risks within our processes and work with appropriate management/staff to ensure satisfactory mitigation
Provides mentoring, coaching and suggests corrective actions as necessary
Develops and deploy strategic plans in which business goals and objectives are met
Providing a mature customer facing lead role in ensuring effective issues management from initiation to closure of customer returns
Approve incoming materials by confirming specifications; conducting visual inspection and measurement tests; rejecting and returning unacceptable materials
Approve in-process production first off activities by confirming specifications; conducting visual and measurement tests; communicating required adjustments to production supervisor/operator
Conduct visual & automated inspection activities on part finished & finished goods
Document inspection results by completing reports and logs
Work closely with all functional areas to identify supply related issues and work closely with Purchasing in closing the route cause with the supplier
Supporting the Global Suppler Quality team in the management of new and existing supply chains
Provide analysis and regular tracking of issues related to material non-conformance
Utilising standard problem techniques/tools to address route causes and chairing MRB meetings
Supporting the NPD/NPI gate review activities
Coordinating the calibration of measurement equipment
Coordinating the concessions/permits along with analysis and progression of changes to further reduce
Supporting customer and 3rd party audits

SKILLS AND ABILITIES Confident in generating / remodelling / facilitating business processes
Performing audits that include; supplier audits, process compliance audits through to verifying the effectiveness of the Business processes
Detailed understanding of root cause analysis tools and engaging with Engineering staff to identify and verify preventive action
Mature Customer focused approach handling issues with urgency
Proven track record with deployment of Continuous Improvement projects using a structured problem solving methodology
Working level demonstration of Lean Six Sigma is essential
Metrology methods
Strong written and verbal communication skills
Awareness of ISO 9001 & AS9102 Quality Standards
Industry experience of working within an ISO9001 environment
Previous experience within a quality engineering role, ideally within an optical technical development/manufacturing environment
Involvement in MRB's (Material Review Meetings) for handling all non-conforming materials, from incoming to outgoing
Experience in implementing process improvements using structured problem solving methodologies
Experienced in the use of Microsoft office - Word, Excel, PowerPoint essential
