Senior Quality Engineer (Aerospace)

Salary: $115,000 + Bonus

Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to support quality systems, product compliance, and continuous improvement initiatives within a regulated manufacturing environment. This role is responsible for driving quality performance across products and processes, supporting audits, and partnering with engineering, manufacturing, and suppliers to ensure compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.

Key Responsibilities:

Quality Systems & Compliance

  • Develop and maintain quality standards, inspection plans, and process control documentation
  • Ensure compliance with customer, regulatory, and contract requirements
  • Support internal and external audits; may serve as primary audit contact
  • Participate in Material Review Board (MRB), nonconformance, and corrective action activities

Data Analysis & Continuous Improvement

  • Analyze quality performance and cost of quality using statistical methods
  • Apply statistical process control (SPC), process capability analysis, and sampling techniques
  • Lead root cause analysis and corrective/preventive actions (CAPA)
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives using Lean manufacturing principles

Product & Process Quality

  • Evaluate product and process reliability, precision, and performance
  • Support product development teams with producibility and quality improvements
  • Review technical data packages, manufacturing methods, and tooling

Supplier & Customer Quality

  • Conduct supplier audits and drive supplier quality improvement initiatives
  • Interface with customers on quality issues, audits, and corrective actions

Leadership & Project Support

  • Lead quality initiatives and support cross-functional project teams
  • Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance
  • Establish project goals, metrics, and timelines

Required Qualifications (Must-Have)

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related technical field
  • 6+ years of experience in Quality Engineering within aerospace or a regulated manufacturing environment
  • Hands-on experience with AS9100 or equivalent aerospace quality standards
  • Direct experience participating in MRB and disposition of nonconforming material
  • Experience supporting or leading internal and external quality audits
  • Strong experience with:
    • Statistical analysis and SPC
    • Root cause analysis and corrective actions (CAPA)
  • Ability to interpret technical documentation and engineering drawings

Preferred Qualifications

  • ASQ certification (CQE or equivalent)
  • Experience with supplier quality and audit processes
  • Experience leading audit responses or serving as primary audit contact
  • Familiarity with Lean manufacturing methodologies
