CENTRAL NURSING SERVICES - SENIOR PSYCHIATRIC TECHNICIAN
The Central Nursing Services - Central Staffing Office (CSO) has multiple openings for permanent, full-time Senior Psychiatric Technicians. This position will report to the CSO Unit Supervisor and Nursing Coordinator and is responsible for facilitating hospital-wide staffing across all three shifts, maintaining hospital-wide overtime lists, coordinating voluntary overtime, and communicating with multiple Programs/Departments regarding facility staffing needs.
Applicants must demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly and professionally, work with a variety of personalities, analyze and solve problems, establish and maintain the confidence and cooperation of others, exercise good judgment in decision making, and handle stressful situations tactfully.

Founded in 1875, Napa State Hospital is the only state hospital in Northern California for persons struggling with severe mental illness. Classified as a low to moderate security facility, the hospital has a bed capacity to treat up to 1,362 patients on an attractive campus with treatment units located on 138 acres. Staff is dedicated and committed to delivering high quality, cost-effective, professional services and specialized programs in an environment that promotes continuous improvements in treatment for individuals with mental disabilities.
Effective July 1, 2025, the State of California implemented the Personal Leave Program 2025 (PLP 2025) which reduces an employee's monthly salary in exchange for leave credits. Employees appointed to this classification will have their monthly salary reduced and will accrue hours of PLP 2025 on the first day of each pay period in accordance with the applicable bargaining contract. The salary range(s) included on this job posting do not reflect the reduction in pay.
