Job Summary
The Senior Property Accountant is responsible for the full-cycle accounting and financial reporting of a designated portfolio of properties. This role requires a professional who can manage complex financial data, ensure accuracy in reporting, and provide strategic financial insights to the leadership team. The ideal candidate will be a self-starter who thrives in a fast-paced environment and possesses strong analytical skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Financial Reporting: Prepare and review monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements for a diverse portfolio of assets.

Full-Cycle Accounting: Manage accounts receivable, accounts payable, and general ledger entries, ensuring all transactions are recorded in accordance with GAAP.

Budgeting & Forecasting: Assist in the preparation of annual operating budgets and provide monthly variance analysis to compare actual performance against projections.

CAM Reconciliations: Perform complex Common Area Maintenance (CAM) reconciliations, property tax adjustments, and insurance true-ups.

Audit & Compliance: Coordinate with external auditors for year-end reviews and ensure compliance with local and state tax filings.

Process Improvement: Identify opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and implement internal controls to safeguard assets.

Stakeholder Support: Act as a financial liaison for property managers and owners, providing clear explanations of financial results and operational inquiries.

Education and Work Experience Requirements
Education: Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or Finance is required.

Experience: Minimum of 5+ years of experience in property accounting, preferably within a mix of commercial and residential portfolios.

Technical Skills: Proficiency in Yardi Voyager or MRI is highly preferred. Advanced expertise in Microsoft Excel (Pivot tables, VLOOKUPs).

Communication: Strong professional written and verbal communication skills for internal and external reporting.

Autonomy: Ability to work independently in a collaborative, local team environment.

Physical Requirements
Ability to perform essential job functions consistent with federal, state, and local standards.

Must be able to maintain regular, punctual attendance.

Must be able to talk, listen, and speak clearly on the phone.
