This role will be responsible for managing the migration of the organization's legacy end-of-life AML platform to SAS's Viya cloud-hosted software. The Project Manager will oversee all phases of the project lifecycle, including planning, execution, testing, deployment, change management, and post-implementation stabilization. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience delivering large-scale enterprise technology implementations within highly regulated environments, with demonstrated success managing complex stakeholder groups, vendor relationships, technology teams, and business partners. Experience with AML, financial crimes, compliance, data analytics platforms, and cloud-based technology transformations is highly preferred.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and maintain comprehensive project plans, schedules, milestones, deliverables, resource plans, and implementation roadmaps.
  • Establish project governance, reporting structures, and communication plans to ensure transparency and alignment across all stakeholders.
  • Coordinate cross-functional teams, including AML Operations, Compliance, Risk Management, Technology, Data Management, Infrastructure, Information Security, Architecture, Quality Assurance, and Vendor teams.
  • Manage project scope, schedule, budget, risks, issues, assumptions, dependencies, and change requests.
  • Drive project planning sessions, status meetings, steering committee reviews, and executive-level updates.
  • Partner closely with business and technology leaders to ensure project objectives align with organizational priorities and regulatory requirements.
  • Facilitate decision-making processes, issue resolution, and escalation management to maintain project momentum.
  • Collaborate with vendors and implementation partners to ensure deliverables are completed on schedule and meet quality expectations.
  • Oversee requirements gathering, solution design reviews, testing activities, data migration planning, deployment preparation, and operational readiness efforts.
  • Ensure appropriate project controls, documentation, and quality management processes are maintained throughout the project lifecycle.
  • Monitor project performance against established milestones and proactively identify opportunities to improve delivery outcomes.
  • Support organizational change management, training, communication, and business readiness activities.
  • Coordinate user acceptance testing (UAT), system integration testing (SIT), and production implementation activities.
  • Ensure successful transition of the platform into operational support and ongoing maintenance teams.

Deliverables and Success Measures

The successful candidate will be accountable for:

  • Delivery of the AML platform migration within approved scope, schedule, and budget.
  • Effective management of project risks, issues, and dependencies.
  • Successful coordination of business, technology, compliance, and vendor stakeholders.
  • Completion of testing, training, deployment, and operational readiness activities.
  • Executive-level communication and governance reporting.
  • Successful transition from the legacy AML platform to SAS Viya with minimal business disruption.
  • Achievement of project objectives, regulatory requirements, and business outcomes.

Required Skills

  • Strong financial management and forecasting capabilities.
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and navigate complex organizational environments.
  • Experience driving accountability across multiple teams and stakeholders.
  • Strong focus on delivery, quality, risk mitigation, and business outcomes.

Preferred Skills

  • Experience leading AML, Fraud, Financial Crimes, Compliance, Regulatory, Risk Management, or Know Your Customer (KYC) initiatives.
  • Experience implementing, upgrading, or supporting SAS solutions, including SAS Viya.
  • Familiarity with cloud-based analytics platforms, data integration, data warehousing, and enterprise reporting solutions.
  • PMP, PgMP, PRINCE2, Agile, Scrum, or equivalent project management certification.
  • Experience working with large-scale data migration and modernization programs.
