The role requires strong project management expertise combined with technical acumen in cloud, software development, and system integrations.

Position: Senior Technical Project Manager

Role Overview

The Senior Technical Project Manager (Sr. TPM) is responsible for planning, executing, and delivering complex technical projects that span multiple teams, systems, and technologies. This role acts as a critical bridge between business stakeholders and technical delivery teams, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope, and aligned with strategic objectives.

The ideal candidate brings strong program and project management discipline along with sufficient technical acumen to effectively partner with engineering, architecture, DevOps, and infrastructure teams.

Key Responsibilities

Project Planning & Delivery

  • Lead end-to-end delivery of large, complex technical projects or workstreams
  • Define project scope, objectives, milestones, deliverables, and success metrics
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, schedules, and dependencies
  • Manage execution across Agile, hybrid, and waterfall delivery models
  • Ensure delivery excellence across scope, timeline, budget, and quality

Technical Coordination

  • Partner closely with engineering, architecture, DevOps, data, and infrastructure teams
  • Translate business requirements into clear, actionable technical deliverables
  • Facilitate technical planning sessions, design discussions, and issue resolution
  • Understand solution architectures to assess risks and downstream impacts

Risk, Issue & Dependency Management

  • Proactively identify and manage risks, issues, and cross-team dependencies
  • Drive mitigation strategies and appropriate escalation paths
  • Balance competing priorities while maintaining delivery commitments

Stakeholder Management & Communication

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for business, product, and technology stakeholders
  • Provide regular project status updates, dashboards, and executive-level briefings
  • Manage scope changes and expectations effectively
  • Influence outcomes across teams without direct authority

Financial & Resource Management

  • Manage project budgets, forecasts, and vendor engagements as applicable
  • Coordinate resource planning across internal teams and external partners
  • Track spend, capacity, and utilization against delivery objectives

Governance & Process

  • Ensure compliance with enterprise project governance, SDLC, and control processes
  • Maintain RAID logs, project documentation, and delivery artifacts
  • Support audits, reviews, and regulatory requirements when required
  • Drive continuous improvement across delivery practices and tooling

Required Qualifications

Experience

  • 7+ years of technical project or program management experience
  • Proven delivery of medium-to-large-scale technology initiatives
  • Experience managing projects across software development, cloud, infrastructure, data, or system integrations

Technical Acumen

  • Strong conceptual understanding of:

  • Software Development Life Cycles (SDLC)

  • Cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, GCP)

  • APIs, integrations, and distributed systems

  • Comfortable collaborating with engineers, architects, and platform teams

Delivery Methodologies & Tools

  • Experience with Agile (Scrum, Kanban) and traditional project delivery models
  • Proficiency with tools such as JIRA, Azure DevOps, MS Project, Smartsheet, Confluence
  • Strong documentation, reporting, and executive communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience managing enterprise-scale or multi-workstream transformation programs
  • Exposure to DevOps, CI/CD, data platforms, or cybersecurity initiatives
  • PMP, PgMP, SAFe, or Scrum certifications
  • Experience working in regulated industries (financial services, healthcare, government)

Leadership & Soft Skills

  • Exceptional stakeholder management and communication skills
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to manage ambiguity and complex technical dependencies
  • Comfortable operating at both tactical execution and executive levels
  • Proven success leading cross-functional teams without direct authority

The base compensation range for this role in the posted location is $73,150 to $ 174,000

Capgemini provides compensation range information in accordance with applicable national, state, provincial, and local pay transparency laws. The base compensation range listed for this position reflects the minimum and maximum target compensation Capgemini, in good faith, believes it may pay for the role at the time of this posting. This range may be subject to change as permitted by law.

The actual compensation offered to any candidate may fall outside of the posted range and will be determined based on multiple factors legally permitted in the applicable jurisdiction.

These may include, but are not limited to: Geographic location, Education and qualifications, Certifications and licenses, Relevant experience and skills, Seniority and performance, Market and business consideration, Internal pay equity.

It is not typical for candidates to be hired at or near the top of the posted compensation range.

In addition to base salary, this role may be eligible for additional compensation such as variable incentives, bonuses, or commissions, depending on the position and applicable laws.
