We are partnering with a well-established and growing affordable housing developer seeking a Senior Project Manager to lead the execution of multifamily developments, with a strong focus on LIHTC (Low-Income Housing Tax Credit) projects. This individual will play a key role in managing projects from pre-development through completion, ensuring timelines, budgets, and quality standards are met.

Job Details

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the full lifecycle of affordable housing developments, with a primary focus on LIHTC projects
  • Oversee project feasibility, entitlements, financing coordination, design development, and construction
  • Work closely with internal teams, consultants, contractors, and external stakeholders
  • Manage project budgets, schedules, and reporting requirements
  • Coordinate with finance teams on LIHTC applications, closings, and compliance requirements
  • Monitor construction progress and resolve issues to keep projects on track
  • Ensure adherence to regulatory guidelines, including local/state housing agencies and LIHTC compliance
  • Support the acquisition and due diligence process as needed

Qualifications

  • 5+ years of experience in affordable housing development
  • Proven experience managing LIHTC projects (ground-up or substantial rehab)
  • Strong understanding of the LIHTC financing process, compliance, and regulatory requirements
  • Experience working with public agencies, tax credit investors, and funding partners
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills
  • Bachelor’s degree in Real Estate, Construction Management, Urban Planning, or related field (or equivalent experience)

Preferred Experience

  • Experience with mixed-finance or mixed-income developments
  • Exposure to additional funding sources (HOME, CDBG, bonds, etc.)
  • Background working with nonprofit or mission-driven housing organizations
