    Position Overview

    The Senior Project Manager is responsible for the overall management and execution of Design-Build (DB) and Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects from project initiation through completion. This role provides leadership across engineering, procurement, scheduling, construction management, and contract administration to ensure projects are delivered safely, on schedule, within budget, and in accordance with quality standards and client expectations.


    The Senior Project Manager oversees all aspects of project execution, including management of field operations, subcontractors, suppliers, project schedules, budgets, and client relationships. This position may be required to work from project sites as business needs dictate.

    Essential Duties & Responsibilities

    • Lead integrated Design-Build (DB) and EPC project teams from project inception through completion, including supporting proposal and pursuit activities when required.
    • Provide overall leadership and coordination of engineering, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities.
    • Manage prime contracts, subcontracts, purchase orders, and contract administration throughout the project lifecycle.
    • Ensure compliance with project safety, quality, environmental, and client requirements.
    • Plan, execute, monitor, and report overall project performance.
    • Serve as the primary point of contact for clients, fostering strong communication and customer satisfaction.
    • Identify, mitigate, and resolve project risks, issues, and potential disputes.
    • Develop and oversee project-specific health, safety, quality assurance, and quality control plans.
    • Supervise Project Managers, Assistant Project Managers, and coordinate with Construction Managers, field personnel, and safety representatives.
    • Review and respond to Requests for Information (RFIs).
    • Perform constructability reviews and value engineering evaluations.
    • Coordinate procurement activities with engineering, estimating, scheduling, and purchasing teams.
    • Develop scopes of work, pricing, and schedule exhibits for subcontract and purchase order packages.
    • Oversee subcontractor bidding, procurement, contract awards, invoices, and submittals.
    • Develop and maintain project schedules in collaboration with engineering, procurement, and construction teams.
    • Monitor engineering, procurement, and construction progress to ensure project milestones are achieved.
    • Manage contract changes, change orders, and project documentation.
    • Develop and maintain project Schedule of Values.
    • Prepare monthly progress reports, budget forecasts, and schedule updates.
    • Manage project closeout, warranty administration, and post-project cost reviews.
    • Maintain effective working relationships with clients, consultants, subcontractors, suppliers, and internal stakeholders.
    • Mentor and develop junior project management staff.
    • Perform additional duties as assigned.
    • Comply with all company policies, procedures, and safety requirements.

    Required Qualifications

    Education

    • Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Construction Science, Engineering, Business, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and relevant work experience.

    Experience

    • Minimum of 10 years of construction project management experience.
    • Experience managing Design-Build (DB) and/or EPC projects, preferably within the electric utility or power delivery industry.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of transmission, distribution, and substation construction methods, materials, and equipment.
    • Experience managing engineering, estimating, scheduling, procurement, contracts, subcontract administration, field operations, budgeting, quality, and safety.

    • Proven leadership and team management skills.
    • Strong organizational, planning, and time management abilities.
    • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
    • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
    • Understanding of engineering design processes throughout both project pursuit and execution phases.
    • Knowledge of EPC project delivery methods and project lifecycle management.
    • Understanding of construction means and methods.
    • Ability to build collaborative relationships with clients, project teams, subcontractors, and suppliers.
    • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
    • Experience with project management, estimating, and scheduling software; Primavera P6 preferred.
    • Strong knowledge of the power delivery industry.
    • Working knowledge of industry safety, environmental, quality assurance, and quality control standards.

    Travel

    • Travel required up to 50%, or as project needs dictate.
