Senior Project Manager

Description

The Senior Project Manager is responsible for crafting and delivering technology-enabled solutions via projects that are well defined, well structured, and that adhere to best practices. The Senior Project Manager guides the overall course of the project from strategy and vendor selection and directly creates details to include, but not limited to: project plans, detailed requirements, business process design, test cases, etc. This position will be responsible for one or more projects and/or programs at a time and must be adaptable to projects of different types and sizes. For smaller projects, the role will involve more responsibilities. For larger projects, the role may be supported by a dedicated Business Analyst and/or Project Manager.

  • Drive and manage assigned projects tied to enterprise-wide tech roadmap.
  • Identify and/or mitigate risk and manage dependencies with competing project initiatives.
  • Monitor and/or manage vendors and vendor relationships to include, but not limited to: statement of work (SOW) development and adherence, managing invoicing and resources, etc.
  • Oversee program and project level budgets and monitor resources of projects.
  • Provide project status update to Information Technology (IT) leadership and Project Management Office (PMO) as required including, but not limited to: program schedule, delivery milestones, estimated completion dates, program risks, resource utilization, etc.
  • Create, manage, and deliver projects with strong stakeholder alignment and buy-in including strategy, scope, timeline, and measurable key performance indicators (KPI).
  • Drive close project collaboration across business, technology, and third-party teams.
  • Responsible for creating project plans, communicating them to stakeholders, and keeping the plans updated.
  • Mediate conflicting development priorities among cross-functional teams to keep the team focused on delivery.
  • Actively map, study and address project risks and issues by elaborating a mitigation and/or response plan
  • Responsible for creating Gate Deck presentations to apply best practices and capture ideas effectively to standards with limited coaching.
  • Identify resource and equipment requirements for assigned projects to include, efficient capacity planning, managing software and hardware availability for assigned projects.
  • Contribute to the continuous improvements in the Company Collaboration Framework and project management practices.
  • Create appropriate project artifacts to include, but not limited to: project requirements, business goals etc. in the standard toolsets for managed projects.
  • Responsible for creating functional requirements to include, but not limited to: product description, defining product features, user requirements, etc. and present them as user stories.
  • Create, write, and execute test cases that tie to design requirements and record results with direct traceability to user stories.
  • Prepare, present, distribute project information to all levels in the Company, as well as others both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ability to create, define, and explain UML (Unified Modelling Language) and modelling experience to communicate a standard way of visualizing the design of a system.
  • Learn and have knowledge for the business domain areas of projects assigned to properly ensure the business key performance indicator (KPI) goals of a project sponsor and stakeholder are met.
  • Responsible for contributing to good practices for version control of artifacts including tracking, managing, updates and/or changes to software code.
  • Collaborate with the Technology Team to include, but not limited to: Enterprise Architect, Business Analyst, Technology Architects, QA Engineer etc. to document project artifacts including deployment model, sequence diagrams, etc.
  • Assist with managing software defects and enhancement request.
  • Assist and contribute to software deployment plans.
  • Manage, support, and synthesize the work of project team members including Business Analysts and Project managers when needed.
  • Assist with teaching the introduction of the Company Collaboration Framework to new team members.

Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

Education/Experience:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, Computer Science, or related field preferred.
  • 5+ years plus experience in a project management role focusing on delivering IT solutions.
  • 3 years' experience as a collaborative leader.
  • Understanding of and experience with people management, systems, and procedures.
  • Technical project management experience managing the full project lifecycle.
  • Experience with ERP System implementations, specifically the Finance and HR modules, including having led one or many system implementation(s) in the role of a Project or Program Manager.

Certificates/Licenses:

  • PMP, CSM, CSPO, PBA or CBAP certification preferred.
