Senior Audio Visual Project Manager

Location: Chicago, IL (Fulton Market/West Loop Area)

Schedule: Full-Time | Onsite 5 Days per Week Initially (Office and Client Sites)

We are seeking a Senior Audio Visual Project Manager to help lead and grow a rapidly expanding AV practice. This is a high-impact opportunity for a strategic leader who can anticipate challenges before they arise, drive successful project execution, and play a key role in shaping the future of a growing business.

Pay rate: up to $110,000-$133,000 annually. The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.

This role is ideal for someone with deep AV industry expertise, strong client-facing skills, and leadership potential. You will partner closely with senior leadership to deliver exceptional AV solutions while helping build processes, mentor team members, and contribute to long-term business growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead planning, execution, and delivery of large-scale and technically complex AV projects.

  • Develop detailed project schedules, resource plans, and implementation strategies.

  • Identify risks proactively and implement mitigation plans to ensure smooth installations.

  • Manage project budgets, labor forecasting, subcontractor costs, and overall financial performance.

  • Oversee project teams and provide mentoring, coaching, and guidance to project management staff.

  • Represent the organization in client meetings, construction meetings, and executive-level discussions.

  • Drive customer satisfaction by ensuring successful project outcomes and strong stakeholder communication.

  • Review and approve change orders, project documentation, and project closeout activities.

  • Contribute to process improvements and best practices that strengthen project delivery.

  • Support business growth initiatives and help expand the AV practice through industry expertise and client engagement.

What We''re Looking For

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of Audio Visual (AV) project management experience preferred.

  • Proven experience managing complex AV integration, workplace technology, or smart building projects.

  • Strong leadership, mentoring, and team development experience.

  • Demonstrated success managing project schedules, budgets, resources, and risk.

  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and client relationship management skills.

  • Ability to thrive in a dynamic, startup-like environment where adaptability is essential.

  • Bachelor''s degree in Business, Engineering, Communications, or a related field, or equivalent experience.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Previous Supervisor, Manager, or Team Lead experience.

  • Experience building or growing an AV business, practice, or service offering.

  • Sales or pre-sales experience with knowledge of the full customer lifecycle.

  • Background in hospitality, restaurant, entertainment, or customer-focused service industries.

  • PMP, CTS-D, CTS-I, or related certifications.

Work Environment

  • Based in the Chicago Fulton Market/West Loop area.

  • Primarily onsite and client-facing during the first six months.

  • Travel between office locations, project sites, and client locations may be required.
