Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and highly organized Senior Project Engineer to support the management of construction projects in San Diego as an owner’s representative. In this role, you will support day-to-day field oversight while assisting in coordinating all aspects of the project lifecycle. Your efforts will support field observation, construction administration, project controls, and overall project management activities.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
·Conduct regular site visits and field observations to monitor construction progress, quality, and conformance with plans and specifications.
·Document field conditions and progress, log issues, and coordinate resolution with contractors, designers, and the owner.
·Review and process submittals and RFIs, tracking status through to resolution.
·Review change orders for accuracy and conformance with contract requirements.
·Support project scheduling, monitor milestones, and help identify and mitigate risks throughout the project lifecycle.
·Facilitate effective communication among project stakeholders.
·Prepare and distribute regular project updates and reports.
Ideal Candidate Will Have
·Bachelor’s degree in construction management, civil engineering, or a related field.
·Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction project engineering or management.
·Excellent organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
·Proficiency in project management software and industry standard tools (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, eBuilder, Bluebeam).
Candidate Differentiators
·California healthcare experience.
·Field inspection or construction administration experience.
·Data analytics and data visualization experience (e.g., Power BI).
Working Conditions
·Flexible work environment with typical work schedule from 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM.
·Ability to travel to various construction sites within the San Diego area.
·Ability to walk, stand, and navigate uneven terrain; climb ladders and stairs; and lift up to 25 pounds.
·Tolerance for working in various weather conditions.
