Senior Project Controls Specialist

The Senior Project Controls Specialist is responsible for leading and executing project controls processes in collaboration with the internal Project Management team. This role ensures project deliverables are executed within approved budget and schedule parameters through effective planning, scheduling, cost control, forecasting, and reporting. The position supports multiple projects and serves as a subject matter expert for project controls methodologies and tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead project controls activities to support successful execution of project scope, schedule, and budget.
Ensure accurate project setup and maintenance within Enterprise Planning & Controls software.
Analyze project data, review logs, and generate reports using Enterprise Planning & Controls software and other tools.
Develop and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) for assigned projects.
Develop, implement, and maintain scheduling reports, cost reports, cash flow analyses, and forecasts for multiple projects.
Support adherence to approved project execution plans.
Manage planning, scheduling, logistics, and cost control activities across engineering, procurement, and construction phases.
Serve as a point of contact for technical project controls questions from the project team.
Review and approve Purchase Orders and subcontracts for proper coding and compliance.
Input, document, and validate changes to cost reports and forecasts.
Interface with Project Management and Accounting teams to review project costs, contingencies, and support internal and external audits.
Review and evaluate upstream (prime contract) and downstream (purchase order and subcontract) change orders.
Develop and present project cash flow reports.
Develop schedules at various levels of detail and complexity.
Apply, review, and validate logic ties within project schedules.
Monitor and evaluate resource loading within schedules.
Support and participate in Interactive Project Planning Meetings (IPPM).
Create and customize schedule reports and determine appropriate reporting formats.
Develop, review, and analyze pre-programmed scheduling reports and supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
Consult with project teams regarding schedule status, progress, and corrective actions.
Analyze and evaluate schedule performance using Critical Path Method (CPM), estimating, cost management, and forecasting techniques.
Perform schedule "what-if and impact analysis scenarios.
Develop and maintain earned value management systems, including progress measurement validation.
Develop and maintain project progress curves.
Perform material take-offs as required.
Conduct quality checks, inspections, and field audits to validate the accuracy of project controls deliverables, reporting, and processes.
Assist with Project Forensic Analysis activities as needed.
Perform other duties as assigned.
Comply with all company policies, procedures, and standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field with a minimum of three (3) years of direct project controls experience; OR
Equivalent applicable experience may be substituted in lieu of a degree.
Experience with Oracle Primavera P6 is preferred.
Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong interpersonal and collaboration skills.
OSHA 10-hour Safety Certification required or ability to obtain
