About the Opportunity

Vandelay Hospitality Group is looking for a Senior Project Architect to lead our restaurant design, coordination, and execution of architectural projects from concept through completion. The Senior Project Architect will oversee the restaurant design process to ensure codes and standards are met, oversee timeline and budget for all phases of projects while leading all consultants, coordination, and general contractors.

Core Responsibilities

• Research project locations, demographics, brand vision, architecture trends, and target market to determine guest experience and architectural intent
• Coordinate with operations, design, and marketing teams to understand project goals and requirements
• Build and own the master project schedule to track project durations and schedule and drive completion
• Lead, collaborate, and coordinate with architects, engineers, interior designers, lighting designers, and other consultants as required
• Strong communication, collaboration, and coordination skills
• Ensure all zoning laws, building codes, sustainability, fire and safety, and accessibility codes are met
• Work with general contractors to manage sub contractors and vendor relationships, cost, lead time, and delivery dates to site
• Manage, review, and respond to all submittals and RFIs in a timely manner to issue to general contractors
• Oversee architectural and design mockups and sample reviews as required
• Visit job sites to ensure project coordination, design intent, codes, and standards are being followed
• Collaborate with general contractors to resolve design or construction issues
• Provide cost estimates throughout all phases of projects
• Provide complete architectural specifications with revisions as required
• Attend punch walks with general contractors and design team
• Ability to lead a team and manage multiple restaurant projects simultaneously

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Architecture, or related field required
• 5-8 years of experience specifically in hospitality/restaurant environment a plus
• Strong analytical, problem solving, and critical thinking skills
• Superior financial acumen for budgeting and coordination
• Strong leadership, multitasking, and organizational skills for decision making
• Understanding of building codes, accessibility standards, fire safety regulations, construction processes, and sustainable design practices
• Proficient in AutoCAD, Revit, Sketchup, BIM, and Adobe Creative Suite
