Description

The world is being reshaped by artificial intelligence. Customer behaviors are evolving rapidly as AI becomes embedded in everyday experiences—changing how people work, learn, communicate, and interact with technology. Form factors are evolving, and for Amazon Devices, this represents a transformational moment.

Amazon's journey in portable devices began with Kindle, which revolutionized reading and created tremendous momentum that opened the door to expand into tablets. We've built a successful tablets business serving millions of customers. But the world has changed. Customer expectations are evolving, and new technologies are creating possibilities we're only beginning to explore. Now is the time to adapt—to be relentlessly customer-obsessed and build great products that meet customers where they are in this new environment.

Amazon strives to be the world's most customer-centric company, where customers can research and purchase anything they might want online or offline. The Amazon Devices team designs and engineers high-profile consumer electronics, including the best-selling Kindle, Tablets, Fire TV, and Echo—products used by millions of customers worldwide.

We are at an inflection point. As customer expectations evolve and new technologies emerge, we're reimagining what's possible for tablets. This is Day 1 for what tablets can become, and we're looking for a customer-centric product marketing leader to help shape this future.

The Senior Product Marketing Manager will drive inbound product marketing strategy for Amazon's tablet portfolio, partnering closely with Product Management to shape product strategy, messaging, and positioning. This role will be the critical bridge between customer insights and product development, ensuring our products meet evolving customer needs during this pivotal transformation. Based in our Sunnyvale or Seattle hub, you'll own the inbound marketing function that informs product roadmaps and defines how we position our tablets in the market.

We're seeking a strong product marketing leader with a proven track record of driving product strategy through deep customer insights. You have successfully partnered with Product Management teams to influence product roadmaps, defined compelling product positioning and messaging, and translated customer needs into actionable product requirements. You excel at synthesizing market intelligence, competitive analysis, and voice-of-customer research to inform strategic decisions.

• Partner with Product Management on product definition, working backwards from customer needs to shape product experiences

• Develop business cases and market opportunity assessments to support investment decisions and product planning

• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including Design, Engineering, Customer Research, Marketing and Sales to ensure customer-centric product development

• Support go-to-market planning by providing strategic product insights and positioning guidance to outbound marketing teams

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of professional non-internship marketing experience

  • Experience using data and metrics to drive improvements

  • Experience with Excel or Tableau (data manipulation, macros, charts and pivot tables)

  • Experience building, executing and scaling cross-functional marketing programs

  • Experience leading go-to-market for consumer software or hardware product launches

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience using any of SQL or other analytical tools for conducting data analysis

  • Experience with customer segmentation, profiling, and targeting

Product managers set feature requirements, strategy, and marketing messages for brand new customer experiences. And as we grow, we’ll add jobs that haven’t been invented yet.

It’s Always Day 1
At Amazon, it’s always “Day 1.” Now, what does this mean and why does it matter? It means that our approach remains the same as it was on Amazon’s very first day – to make smart, fast decisions, stay nimble, invent, and stay focused on delighting our customers. In our 2016 shareholder letter, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos shared his thoughts on how to keep up a Day 1 company mindset. “Staying in Day 1 requires you to experiment patiently, accept failures, plant seeds, protect saplings, and double down when you see customer delight,” he wrote. “A customer-obsessed culture best creates the conditions where all of that can happen.” You can read the full letter here

Our Leadership Principles
Our Leadership Principles help us keep a Day 1 mentality. They aren’t just a pretty inspirational wall hanging. Amazonians use them, every day, whether they’re discussing ideas for new projects, deciding on the best solution for a customer’s problem, or interviewing candidates.
