Job Title: Senior Process Engineer
Location: Onsite in NC
Duration: 6-12 Months+
Position Overview:
We are seeking an experienced Senior Process Engineer to support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT), field verification, and process engineering execution activities across multiple project sites. This is a hands-on, field-driven role requiring strong technical expertise in downstream processing, utilities, and equipment verification. The ideal candidate will be capable of independently leading FATs, reviewing engineering drawings onsite, supporting design discussions, and ensuring systems and equipment meet technical and operational specifications.
Key Responsibilities:
Lead and execute Factory Acceptance Tests (FATs), including documentation and issue resolution
Review and interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and technical specifications in the field
Support design package reviews and technical discussions with project stakeholders
Perform field verification to ensure equipment and systems align with approved design and process requirements
Validate P&IDs and confirm system compliance with project and operational specifications
Support onsite process engineering activities, commissioning, and execution-related tasks
Identify technical gaps, recommend solutions, and support implementation in the field
Ensure engineering documentation is accurate, complete, and aligned with project deliverables
Qualifications:
10 15 years of hands-on process engineering experience within regulated manufacturing environments
Strong expertise in Downstream Process Engineering is required
Solid experience with Utilities Systems (Clean Utilities / Process Utilities)
Proven ability to independently lead and execute FAT activities
Strong experience in reviewing engineering drawings and conducting field verification
In-depth understanding of P&IDs, equipment specifications, and system compliance requirements
Prior pharmaceutical or biotech industry experience is highly preferred
Willingness and ability to travel extensively to support project execution across sites
