Description
SAIC seeks an experienced Senior Principal Logistics / Product Support Analyst with deep expertise in life cycle logistics and sustainment engineering for complex systems to directly support the modernization of the space launch ranges, meeting mission requirements, providing range capabilities, and supporting the Assured Access to Space (AATS) mission. The overarching purpose of the program is to perform system modernization and digital transformation projects that will enable the acceleration of the space launch cadence to enable the Spaceport of the future. This position is located in Santa Maria, CA.
The ideal candidate brings more than 15 years of experience supporting launch, test, and range systems, including asset management, provisioning, technical data development, and logistics planning for both hardware and software baselines.
This role is responsible for creating and analyzing logistics data and developing Product Support Plans that cover the system life cycle, assisting with configuration and data management activities, and coordinating sustainment actions across engineering, cybersecurity, operations, and supply chain stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain Product Support Plans, Product Indenture Reports (PIRs), and Recommended Spare Parts Reports (RSPRs).
- Perform Level of Repair Analysis (LORA), Maintenance Task Analysis (MTA), and identification of initial spares.
- Recommend spares, minimum stock levels, and Source, Maintenance, and Recoverability (SMR) codes for stakeholder approval.
- Support sustainment activities including provisioning, property management, asset accountability, inventory control, and PHS&T (Packaging, Handling, Storage & Transportation).
- Conduct technical data updates for Technical Orders (TOs), Work Unit Codes (WUCs), engineering drawings, and other controlled documents.
- • Generate, upload, and maintain technical data using Windchill and related data management systems.
- Assist with training development including student guides, instructor guides, and training plans; support execution of formal training sessions.
- Support transition activities to operations and maintenance contractors, including DD 250 and DD 1149 processes.
Qualifications
BS Degree
- 15+ years of experience in logistics engineering, product support, or life cycle sustainment (20+ years strongly preferred).
- Demonstrated experience with launch/test range systems (LTRS, SLRS) or equivalent complex technical systems.
- Strong proficiency with logistics tools and systems, such as:
o Windchill
o REMIS / IMDS
o Microsoft Office Suite (incl. Project, Access)
o Deltek/Costpoint
- Working knowledge of DMSMS, provisioning, technical data, configuration management, and system accreditation processes.
- Experience with product structures, engineering documentation, and sustainment engineering activities.
- Ability to coordinate across engineering, operations, cybersecurity, supply chain, and contractor teams.
Must have a Secret Clearance.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience in ACAT II/III programs.
- Prior work supporting Air Force, Space Force, or DoD range operations.
- Training development and delivery experience.
Target salary range: $120,001 - $160,000. The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position based on experience and other factors.
