The Impact You'll Make

You will play a key role in shaping the next generation of medium‑voltage drive technologies that power a more sustainable world. At Danfoss, your work directly supports global energy efficiency and electrification goals.

As part of the Danfoss Drives Medium Voltage R&D team in Research Triangle Park, North Carolina, you'll turn advanced power electronics concepts into reliable, high‑performance products used across critical industries worldwide.

This is an opportunity to combine deep technical expertise with real‑world impact-engineering solutions that matter today and for generations to come.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead the design and development of power and control electronics, from concept through production, including requirements definition, schematics, component selection, and simulations.

  • Collaborate closely with mechanical, software, and manufacturing teams to deliver robust products on time, within scope, and to the highest quality standards.

  • Build, test, and validate prototypes, ensuring performance, reliability, and compliance with electrical safety standards.

  • Support products throughout their lifecycle, troubleshooting issues, driving design improvements, and contributing technical expertise as products evolve.

What We're Looking For

  • Advanced degree in Electrical Engineering (Master's or PhD) with 8+ years of hands‑on product development experience in power electronics.
  • Strong technical expertise in AC/DC, DC/DC, and DC/AC converters; medium‑voltage systems and SiC devices are a plus.
  • Proven design skills in analog and digital circuits, PCB development (Cadence preferred), and power semiconductor devices.
  • Confidence with simulation and lab tools, such as SPICE, PLECS, MATLAB/Simulink, oscilloscopes, and data acquisition systems, paired with strong troubleshooting skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in global, cross‑functional teams, with a solid understanding of project timelines and electrical safety standards (UL, IEC, NFPA 70E).

What You'll Get from Us

  • We promote from within and support your learning with mentoring, training, and access to global opportunities.
  • You'll have flexibility, autonomy, and support to do your best work while maintaining a healthy work-life balance. Your well-being matters to us.
  • We strive to create an inclusive work environment where people of all backgrounds are respected, and valued for who they are.
  • This is full-time position with bonus + benefits located in RTP, NC.
