The Role

As a Senior DevOps Engineer, you will lead the design, automation, and operation of secure, scalable AWS cloud infrastructure in a fast?paced, startup-style environment. You will build and manage modern compute platforms using EKS and ECS, implement Infrastructure?as?Code to standardize and evolve our environments, and own CI/CD, observability, and reliability across the full development lifecycle. Working closely with software engineers, product leaders, and security partners, you will help deliver high-quality features quickly and safely while strengthening our cloud and operational foundations. You will also mentor both software developers and fellow DevOps engineers, fostering a culture of technical excellence, ownership, and continuous improvement.

The Expertise and Skills You Bring
  • 10+ years of proven experience building and operating large-scale systems on AWS, with strong familiarity across foundational services including VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, RDS, S3, KMS, Route53, and networking.
  • Deep experience operating containerized workloads using EKS (Kubernetes) and ECS (Fargate and EC2 launch types).
  • Proficiency with Infrastructure?as?Code tools such as AWS CDK (TypeScript), Terraform, or CloudFormation to define and manage cloud environments.
  • Strong DevOps and platform engineering capabilities, including CI/CD pipeline design, deployment automation, release management, and environment orchestration.
  • Hands?on experience implementing observability—metrics, logs, traces, dashboards, alerting—using tools such as Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, or OpenTelemetry.
  • Strong programming or scripting skills in TypeScript, Python, Go, or Bash for automation and platform tooling.
  • Excellent understanding of cloud security, least privilege, encryption, identity management, and zero?trust principles.
  • Highly desirable: Experience operating multi?region, globally deployed cloud systems, including cross?region redundancy, data strategies, and regional compliance considerations.
  • Demonstrated ability to mentor and guide both software developers and DevOps engineers, elevating the team's cloud literacy, reliability practices, and automation mindset.
  • Effective communicator with the ability to collaborate across engineering, product, security, and leadership teams.
  • Experience in agile development, rapid iteration cycles, and continuous improvement.

The Team
We operate in a hybrid environment that combines the speed, autonomy, and hands-on building of a startup with the strong engineering principles, reliability expectations, and security foundations of an enterprise-scale organization. Our team works closely across engineering, product, design, and security to deliver end-to-end solutions that are cloud-native, scalable, and resilient. We value experimentation, rapid prototyping, shared ownership, and learning through iteration.

Preferred Experience
  • Experience working in regulated or high-security industries such as FinTech, crypto, or healthcare.
  • Background supporting highly available, large-scale distributed systems or performance-sensitive architectures.
  • Familiarity with AWS cost optimization practices and the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
  • Contributions to cloud-native, DevOps, or Kubernetes?related open-source communities.
