Job Summary:

We are seeking a Senior Platform Engineer to lead the design, automation, and operation of secure, scalable AWS cloud infrastructure in a fast-paced, agile environment.

This role focuses on building and managing modern compute platforms using EKS and ECS, implementing Infrastructure-as-Code to standardize environments, and owning CI/CD, observability, and reliability across the development lifecycle.

The ideal candidate will collaborate closely with engineering, product, and security teams to deliver high-quality solutions while mentoring team members and promoting a culture of continuous improvement and operational excellence.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, build, and operate scalable and secure AWS cloud infrastructure.
  • Develop and manage containerized platforms using EKS (Kubernetes) and ECS (Fargate and EC2).
  • Implement Infrastructure-as-Code solutions using tools such as AWS CDK, Terraform, or CloudFormation.
  • Design and maintain CI/CD pipelines, deployment automation, and release management processes.
  • Establish and enhance observability practices including monitoring, logging, tracing, alerting, and dashboards.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to deliver reliable and scalable cloud-native solutions.
  • Apply cloud security best practices, including identity management, encryption, and least privilege principles.
  • Support multi-region and globally distributed cloud architectures where applicable.
  • Mentor and guide engineers to improve cloud adoption, reliability practices, and automation strategies.
  • Participate in agile development processes with a focus on continuous improvement and rapid iteration.
Required Qualifications:
  • 10+ years of experience building and operating large-scale systems on AWS.
  • Strong expertise in AWS services such as VPC, IAM, CloudWatch, RDS, S3, KMS, Route53, and networking.
  • Hands-on experience with container orchestration using EKS (Kubernetes) and ECS.
  • Proficiency in Infrastructure-as-Code tools such as AWS CDK (TypeScript), Terraform, or CloudFormation.
  • Experience with CI/CD pipeline design, automation, and environment orchestration.
  • Strong experience implementing observability solutions using tools like Datadog, Prometheus, Grafana, CloudWatch, or OpenTelemetry.
  • Programming or scripting skills in TypeScript, Python, Go, or Bash.
  • Solid understanding of cloud security principles including identity management, encryption, and zero-trust models.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills across technical and non-technical teams.
  • Experience working in agile environments with iterative development practices.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience working in regulated or high-security industries such as financial services or healthcare.
  • Background in supporting highly available, large-scale distributed systems.
  • Familiarity with AWS cost optimization practices and the AWS Well-Architected Framework.
  • Contributions to cloud-native, DevOps, or Kubernetes-related open-source projects.
