Required Skills:
- Senior Experience: 7+ years of Senior Oracle DBA experience operating within a large enterprise environment.
- Oracle 19c Infrastructure: 5+ years of hands-on experience with Oracle versions 19c, including Oracle ASM architecture and regular patching cycles.
- Data Guard Expertise: 5+ years of dedicated experience with Oracle Data Guard Standby configuration, setup, management, and troubleshooting.
- Grid Control Management: 5+ years of experience utilizing and patching Oracle Grid Control version 13c.
- OS Environment: 5+ years of experience installing and supporting Oracle databases on Microsoft Windows Server 2022 and up.
- Public Sector Experience: 3+ years of experience working within local, state, or federal government IT environments.
- Residency: Must currently reside in the state of South Carolina.
Preferred Skills:
- Familiarity or foundational experience with MS-SQL Server.
- Familiarity with data visualization tools, specifically Power BI.
- Database Maintenance: Install, configure, maintain, and support Oracle 19c databases on Microsoft Windows Server 2022 (and above) within an enterprise environment.
- Patching & Upgrades: Perform critical database patching and lifecycle management for Oracle 19c, Oracle ASM, and Oracle Grid Control 13c.
- High Availability: Configure, manage, monitor, and troubleshoot Oracle Data Guard Standby databases to ensure robust disaster recovery and data redundancy.
- Enterprise Monitoring: Utilize Oracle Grid Control 13c to actively monitor database health, performance, and security compliance.
- Collaboration: Work closely with public sector IT teams to ensure database infrastructure aligns with state government performance and security standards.
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Oracle Database Administrator (DBA) for a 12-month contract with the State of South Carolina (SCDMV). The ideal candidate will have extensive enterprise-level experience managing, patching, and troubleshooting Oracle 19c environments hosted on Windows Server platforms. This role requires a proven track record in high-availability configurations using Oracle Data Guard and robust monitoring via Oracle Grid Control 13c within a government agency setting.
CRITICAL REQUIREMENT: Candidate must be a CURRENT South Carolina resident. No relocation is allowed for this position. This is a hybrid role requiring at least 3 days onsite per week in Blythewood, SC.
