Role Overview

The Senior Operations Manager is a key leadership role responsible for project planning, client relations, staff development, and ensuring top-tier service delivery. You’ll oversee project coordination to meet our commitments, work closely with clients, and lead teams to success, all while managing resources effectively.

You will partner closely with the District Manager and/or Senior Security Manager to:

  • Drive operational performance in the Austin area
  • Support key client accounts and new business start-ups
  • Lead and develop a high-performing team of security professionals

Key Responsibilities

Client Relationship Management

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for assigned clients, ensuring high-quality service delivery and swift corrective action when needed.
  • Meet regularly with client representatives for updates, performance reviews, and strategic planning.
  • Support client start-ups, transitions, and expansions to ensure smooth implementation and continuity of service.
  • Identify opportunities to enhance service, improve efficiency, and strengthen long-term client partnerships.

Team Leadership

  • Oversee the recruitment, orientation, training, and retention of high-performing staff in the Austin area.
  • Lead by example and foster a culture where everyone is treated with dignity and respect.
  • Coach, mentor, and develop supervisors and officers to build strong bench strength and future leaders.
  • Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide clear, constructive feedback.
  • Promote a safe, inclusive, and supportive work environment.

Operational Excellence

  • Assist in developing and managing the budget for assigned accounts, including labor planning and cost control.
  • Manage expenditures, maintain equipment and supplies, and ensure accurate payroll records.
  • Ensure compliance with all laws, regulations, company policies, and client procedures.
  • Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) and implement action plans to improve results.
  • Support incident response, investigations, and reporting as needed.

Scheduling & Staffing

  • Prepare and coordinate staffing schedules to ensure effective coverage while managing labor costs.
  • Ensure posts are staffed with trained, qualified personnel and that all client directives are followed.
  • Conduct regular site and post inspections to verify service quality and compliance.
  • Address staffing gaps, overtime, and call-offs in a timely and efficient manner.

Company Initiatives & Problem Solving

  • Provide input on company initiatives and support the rollout of new programs, tools, and processes.
  • Assist with legal, financial, HR, and administrative matters to ensure smooth operations.
  • Partner with internal teams (HR, Finance, IT, Sales) to support business goals and client needs.
  • Identify operational risks and opportunities, and recommend practical solutions.

Position Requirements

Age & Education

  • Must be at least 18 years old.
  • High school diploma or GED required; additional education in business, management, or a related field is a plus.

Experience

  • 3–5 years of experience in security or management (security, facilities, operations, or related service industries).
  • Experience leading teams in a fast-paced, client-focused environment.
  • Prior experience managing multiple sites or accounts is strongly preferred.

Skills & Knowledge

  • Strong computer skills, including spreadsheets and basic reporting tools.
  • Excellent customer service, staff supervision, and conflict resolution skills.
  • Solid understanding of security operations, safety controls, and basic business/HR management.
  • Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make sound recommendations.

Leadership & Initiative

  • Proven ability to lead with a positive attitude and build strong, engaged teams.
  • Comfortable managing multiple assignments and shifting priorities.
  • Strong planning and organizing skills, with attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
