Senior Office Engineer

With our historic growth, it is an exciting time to join our team of employee-owners.This opportunity entails being responsible for performing contract and project administration responsibilities and supporting field engineering functions for projects and programs of a diverse nature. Assists the Resident Engineer or Project Manager with routine to complex contractor activities in order to monitor individual contractor compliance with specifications, plans, and other contract provisions. Provides guidance, training and may lead the work of early career office engineers.What You'll Do:Assists and acts as when needed, the Resident Engineer and/or Project Manager in the administration of the construction contract. Provides interpretation of contract plans and specifications and reviews contractor's shop drawings and submittals for contract compliance, as applicable.Maintains as-built record drawings, project files and records database including specifications, test results and reports.Keeps inspector's daily report of assigned work activities.Performs reviews for approval of contractor's monthly schedule submittals and pay estimates.Assists in project administration by monitoring internal project controls and claims documentation. Reviews schedules and facilitates resolution in problem situations.Responsible for logging, tracking, and processing requests for information, submittals, change orders, and other project deliverables.Reviews inspector's daily reports for conformance with the project requirements, plans, specifications, quantities, contractor's progress, and as-constructed data.Reviews, assembles, and processes the monthly progress payments.Leads daily assignments, mentors, and trains employees.Monitors internal HNTB project controls as directed.Performs other duties as assigned.What You'll Need:Bachelor's degree in Engineering and 6 years relevant experience, orMaster's degree in Engineering and 5 years relevant experience, orDoctorate degree in Engineering and 4 years relevant experience.What You'll Bring:Knows industry standards and best practices for workmanship, materials, etc. so to serve as the subject matter expert (i.e., constructability reviews).Secures and deploys section/department resources effectively and efficiently.Leads the work of the project team in the absence of the PM/RE.Performs advanced shop drawing and submittal review as well as advanced CPM schedule analysis.What We Prefer:EIT/FEOSHA 30 certified preferred.ACI CertifiedTrained in digital construction management software such as Constructware, Asite or similar preferred.Comprehensive knowledge of NYCDDC, NYCDOT, and NYCDEP specificationsExcellent written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Excel and WordPDMS Training and practical experiencePrimavera P6 training and practical experienceWorking knowledge of AutoCAD and/or VisioBenefits information: HNTB Total RewardsEqual Opportunity Employer/Disability/VeteranVisa sponsorship is not available for this position. #AS #ConstructionManagementLocations: New York, NYThe approximate pay range for New York is $95,991.51 - $187,675.71.
