San Jose, CA (onsite) Responsibilities Design and Implement Network Architectures: Develop robust and scalable network architectures that meet current and future business requirements. Collaborate with Departments: Work with IT and other departments to assess networking needs and provide tailored solutions. Manage Network Infrastructure: Oversee the deployment, management, and optimization of LAN, WAN, SDWAN, and wireless systems. Ensure Network Security: Design and implement firewall, intrusion detection/prevention, and encryption solutions. Troubleshoot and Optimize: Resolve complex networking issues and optimize network performance for high availability and reliability. Stay Updated: Keep abreast of the latest trends in networking technologies and suggest improvements. Lead and Mentor: Guide and provide technical expertise to the network engineering team. Document Networks: Develop and maintain comprehensive network documentation, including architecture diagrams and configurations. Risk Management: Conduct risk assessments and develop disaster recovery plans for network continuity. Vendor Management: Manage relationships with vendors to ensure timely support and equipment procurement. Qualifications Education: Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Technology, or a related field. Experience: Proven experience as a Network Architect with strong knowledge of networking protocols. Technical Skills: Hands-on experience with Cisco, Juniper, or similar networking equipment. Extensive knowledge of security technologies such as firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and encryption. Cloud Networking: Familiarity with cloud networking and hybrid cloud environments (AWS, Azure, etc.). Problem-Solving: Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex networking issues. Project Management: Excellent project management and communication skills. Tools: Experience with network monitoring and automation tools is a plus. Technical Skills Network Design and Architecture: Ability to design scalable and robust network architectures. Networking Protocols: In-depth knowledge of protocols like TCP/IP, BGP, OSPF, MPLS, etc. Security: Expertise in network security measures, including firewalls, VPNs, IDS/IPS, and encryption. Wireless Technologies: Proficiency in designing and managing wireless networks. SDWAN: Experience with SDWAN solutions and their implementation. Cloud Networking: Familiarity with cloud networking (AWS, Azure, etc.) and hybrid cloud environments. Network Troubleshooting: Strong problem-solving skills to diagnose and resolve complex network issues. Vendor Management: Ability to manage relationships with network equipment vendors. Soft Skills Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills to collaborate with various teams and stakeholders. Project Management: Strong project management skills to oversee network projects from inception to completion. Leadership: Ability to lead and mentor a team of network engineers. Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical skills to assess network performance and identify areas for improvement. Adaptability: Ability to stay updated with the latest networking technologies and adapt to new challenges. Certifications CCNP/CCIE: Cisco Certified Network Professional/Expert. Other Relevant Certifications: Certifications from vendors like Juniper, AWS, or other relevant bodies.'
