Job Title: Senior Metadata Ingestion Analyst (Business Analyst III)

Position Summary

We are seeking a Senior Metadata Ingestion Analyst to serve as a key liaison between technical IT teams and non-technical business stakeholders. This role focuses on metadata acquisition, analysis, enrichment, and governance to support enterprise reporting, analytics, and strategic decision-making. The ideal candidate brings strong analytical expertise, business analysis experience, and the ability to translate complex technical data into actionable insights, particularly in evolving AI-driven environments.


Key Responsibilities

Strategic Liaison & Business Analysis

  • Act as a bridge between technical teams and business units to translate requirements into actionable data solutions
  • Analyze business systems and user needs, aligning solutions with organizational strategies
  • Support business process reengineering and identify opportunities to improve efficiency through technology
  • Prepare solution options, risk assessments, and cost-benefit/ROI analyses

Metadata Management & Data Integration

  • Acquire, analyze, and enrich metadata from complex internal and external data sources
  • Support development and maintenance of data glossaries and data lineage frameworks
  • Automate metadata collection and updates for high-value data assets
  • Ensure data accuracy, quality, and compliance with governance standards

Data Analysis, Reporting & Visualization

  • Extract and analyze data using SQL and other analytical tools
  • Develop reports, dashboards, and visualizations to support business insights
  • Translate analytical findings into clear, actionable recommendations
  • Validate outputs, including AI-generated insights, ensuring accuracy and reliability

AI & Data Innovation

  • Develop and refine AI prompts and query strategies for metadata extraction and synthesis
  • Support end-users in effectively leveraging AI tools for data access and reporting
  • Create standardized prompt libraries for common use cases

Training & Data Literacy

  • Promote data literacy across the organization through training and enablement
  • Develop documentation, user guides, and training materials for data tools and processes
  • Mentor users with varying levels of technical expertise

Collaboration & Problem Solving

  • Partner with IT, data engineering, and business teams to resolve data inconsistencies
  • Provide subject matter expertise on metadata, data governance, and analytics
  • Stay current with emerging tools, technologies, and best practices in data and AI

Required Qualifications

  • 8+ years of experience in business analysis, data analysis, or metadata management roles
  • Strong experience gathering business requirements and translating them into data solutions
  • Expertise in explaining complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders
  • Advanced SQL skills for data extraction, manipulation, and analysis
  • Experience working with data glossaries, metadata, and data lineage
  • Proven ability to collaborate across technical and business teams
  • Excellent communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with Business Intelligence and Data Warehousing environments
  • Familiarity with data governance and data quality frameworks
  • Experience with metadata and data catalog tools (e.g., enterprise data catalog platforms)
  • Background in regulated environments such as healthcare or public sector
  • Experience leading metadata or analytics initiatives
  • Exposure to AI tools and prompt development techniques
  • Experience training and mentoring users on data tools and best practices

Methodology & Environment

  • Experience working in Agile development environments
  • Familiarity with iterative delivery models and cross-functional team collaboration
