Piper Companies is looking for a Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist to join a preclinical laboratory company located in Norton Shores, MI.
Responsibilities of the Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist include:
- Perform independent analysis and determine sample acceptability based on established criteria
- Conduct advanced processing of blood, urine, cerebrospinal fluid, and other specimens in accordance with SOPs and sponsor requirements
- Operate and monitor laboratory instrumentation (chemistry, hematology, coagulation, and urinalysis analyzers)
- Review quality control, preventative maintenance data, and ensure GLP compliance
- Execute equipment validation, calibrations, and performance evaluations
- Prepare and evaluate reagents, controls, and calibrators
- Analyze microbiological samples and support advanced testing procedures
- Document, review, and maintain laboratory data in compliance with established systems
- Write and implement standard operating procedures and validation scripts
- Pilot new procedures and support process improvement initiatives
- Coordinate sample workflow and communicate findings with internal teams, Study Directors, and Sponsors
- Train and mentor laboratory staff
Qualifications for the Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist include:
- BA/BS in a relevant discipline (Associate degree acceptable)
- 5+ years of medical laboratory experience (healthcare or preclinical environment)
- Strong experience with hematology analyzers and laboratory instrumentation
- ASCP or AMT certification preferred
- Organized, adaptable, with strong communication and problem-solving skills
Compensation for Senior Medical Laboratory Scientist includes:
- Rate Range: $90,000 - $100,000+, depending on experience
- Comprehensive Benefit Package: Cigna Medical/Dental/Vision, 401K, Sick Leave as Required by Law
