Summary

Responsible for the coordination and oversight of projects and ongoing programs with Sanford Medical Education. Oversees all aspects of projects, including establishing plans, timelines, negotiation and delegation of tasks to project members, data management, monitoring of progress toward established deadlines and summarization of project reports and evaluations. Responsible for agenda creation, note taking, and scheduling for Sanford Medical Education Leadership Team.

Job Description

Establishes and maintains effective working relationships with team members, academic partners, students, resident physicians, fellows, internal and external stakeholders, and other system departments. Prepares progress reports for leadership regarding accreditation status, project updates, and final project summaries. Knowledgeable of internal organizational practices and procedures as well as applicable external educational accreditation and medical employment requirements. Relies on experience and judgment to plan and accomplish goals. Coordinates communication and facilitates related committee meetings with project members and key stakeholders.

Responsible for agenda creation, event planning, meeting scheduling, and documentation of meeting minutes for the Sanford Medical Education Leadership Team; proactively coordinates calendars and communicates with multiple stakeholders to ensure effective meeting logistics.

Possesses a working knowledge of accreditation standards for programs specific to the individual’s area of responsibility. Demonstrates the ability to plan, organize, develop, implement, and interpret programs, goals, objectives, policies, and procedures necessary for a comprehensive learning program. Provides guidance and direction to administrators, educators, and/or health team members to successfully meet regulatory requirements.

Demonstrates the ability to develop strong working relationships, manage projects, and communicate effectively to achieve organizational goals. Proven success working with diverse groups to accomplish common objectives. Demonstrates flexibility, as well as strong planning and organizational skills. Effective communication skills are essential across personal, verbal, written, and electronic formats. Ability to function in a collaborative, fast-paced, customer-driven organization. Demonstrates proficiency in Microsoft Office/Windows applications, analytical decision-making, information gathering, presentation, and project management.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree required. Master's degree preferred. Field of study preference based on department training focus and specialties. In lieu of education, leadership may accept four years of applicable experience.

Minimum of four years of experience in a healthcare environment providing education/training, including the use of automated software applications. Minimum of two years of project management experience as well as knowledge of adult learning principles and training methods preferred.

Obtains and subsequently maintains required department specific competencies and certifications based on program training needs of the department and population focus.
