SLR is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer with strong mining experience to join our Denver team. If you're motivated by complex design challenges, field exposure, and seeing your work directly influence major operations, this role gives you the autonomy and breadth you're looking for!In this role, you'll work closely with our principal engineers to support project execution and oversight, while also providing technical guidance and mentorship to our junior engineers. You will also collaborate with our process engineering team to coordinate projects conducted through our metallurgical testing facility.We are SLR Consulting (US), a coast-to-coast team of 500+ advisory, environmental/engineering, and regulatory professionals. We deliver environmental and sustainability services to our clients through the integration of over 30 advisory, technical environmental, and engineering disciplines to help clients address some of their most complex challenges around sustainability. We are Making Sustainability Happen.As our new Senior Mechanical Engineer, you will play an important role on a team whose work is essential to achieving this goal.ResponsibilitiesSupport all aspects of projects: planning, design, permitting, and executionProactively manage projects to achieve quality, schedule, budget, and safetyUtilize project control tools to track and forecast project performanceWork closely with other disciplines on multi-discipline projectsAssist in engineering design of projects from scoping, prefeasibility, feasibility, executionAssist in cost estimation for projectsPerform and review design calculations for mechanical and piping systemsReview project specifications & drawings (PFDs, P&IDs, General Arrangements, etc.)Assist in preparation of proposals for engineering servicesReview and prepare reports, technical memorandums, and presentationsAssist in procurement of equipment, supplies, and contractsPerform field engineering and construction quality assurance (CQA) duties during construction and commissioningEnsure projects are designed and constructed with safety being the highest priorityEquipment bid evaluation and selectionWorking @ SLRWith us, there is no doubt you'll grow your subject-matter expertise and industry knowledge. Final agreed upon compensation will be commensurate with individual education, professional designation, experience, internal parity, and location.Full-time, permanent role with opportunities for professional growth and advancement.QualificationsBachelor of Science in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering disciplineMinimum of 8 years of mechanical engineering experience in the mining industryProject management experience is strongly preferredRegistered, or eligible for registration, as a Professional EngineerWorking knowledge of ASME B31.3 Process PipingExperience in equipment sizing, process design, and vendor package assessmentFamiliarity with mineral processing operations and construction is considered an assetStrong written and verbal communication skillsProficiency in Microsoft Office, particularly ExcelExcellent organizational skills and attention to detailAbility to thrive in a team-oriented, fast-paced environmentAbility to travel domestically and internationally as required#J-18808-Ljbffr
