Description
- Lead the redesign and standardization of mechanical platforms for industrial automated machinery.
- Develop modular, scalable systems optimised for high-throughput production and efficient changeovers.
- Design mechanical components and assemblies including motion systems, sealing mechanisms, and material handling.
- Produce detailed 3D CAD models, engineering drawings, and complete documentation packages.
- Apply hygienic design principles suitable for washdown and food-safe environments.
- Conduct engineering analysis including tolerance stack-ups, material selection, and performance optimization.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with electrical, controls, manufacturing, and service teams.
- Oversee prototype builds, testing, validation, and continuous design improvements.
- Support factory and site acceptance testing as required.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to engineering standards and best practices.
Profile
- Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or a related technical discipline, or equivalent experience.
- 7+ years experience in mechanical design within industrial automation or machinery manufacturing.
- Strong background in packaging equipment or similar high-speed automated systems.
- Expertise in 3D CAD design and full product lifecycle engineering.
- Knowledge of hygienic design principles and materials used in washdown environments.
- Solid understanding of DFM/DFA and manufacturable design practices.
- Experience with mechanical systems such as motion control, product handling, and sealing technologies.
- Proven ability to lead technical projects and mentor engineering teams.
- Strong problem-solving skills with experience in root-cause analysis and system optimization.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills across multidisciplinary teams.
