Senior Mechanical Design Engineer

Your actual pay will be based on your skills and experience — talk with your recruiter to learn more.Base pay range $140,000.00/yr - $170,000.00/yrTitle: Sr. Mechanical Design EngineerManufacturing: Aerospace ManufacturingPosition OverviewWe are seeking a highly skilled Sr. Mechanical Design Engineer to design, develop, and improve mechanical systems with a focus on quality, cost-efficiency, and timely delivery. The ideal candidate will have strong SolidWorks expertise, hands-on manufacturing experience, and a creative, detail-oriented approach to product design and problem-solving.Key ResponsibilitiesDesign and develop mechanical systems, ensuring compliance with project budgets and timelines.Create 3D models of enclosures, mechanical packaging, and detailed assembly drawings using SolidWorks.Generate conceptual designs, PCB board layouts, and packaging in SolidWorks.Build and test prototypes to verify functionality.Analyze and improve existing products for performance and manufacturability.Collaborate with cross-functional teams to resolve manufacturing issues.Apply working knowledge of mold making, dies, tooling, assembly, manufacturing fixtures, and processes.Work with materials such as foam, fiberglass, castings, resins, and aluminum; injection molding experience preferred.Prepare and support technical documents, including Specifications, Routers, ECOs, and ECRs.Minimum QualificationsEducation: Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related field.Experience:5+ years of mechanical engineering experience in related duties.3+ years in a manufacturing environment as a process owner (design, process, equipment, documentation).Proficiency in AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).Strong knowledge of FEA analyses for thermal, stress, and vibration using simulation tools.Ability to read blueprints, drawings, and quality specifications, including basic GD&T.Broad manufacturing experience preferred.Effective collaboration skills across engineering, technicians, and leadership levels.Excellent judgment, integrity, and problem-solving skills.Strong written and verbal communication abilities.Seniority level Seniority level Mid-Senior levelEmployment type Employment type Full-timeJob function Job function Engineering and DesignIndustries Manufacturing, Aviation and Aerospace Component Manufacturing, and Defense and Space ManufacturingReferrals increase your chances of interviewing at Sky Limit Systems by 2xInferred from the description for this job 401(k)Medical insuranceVision insuranceGet notified when a new job is posted.Sign in to set job alerts for “Mechanical Design Engineer” roles.
