The Opportunity
This is a high-visibility production planning role at an established, complex manufacturing operation supporting $70M in sales. You will own master scheduling across assigned value streams, serve as a core contributor to the global SIOP process, and directly influence customer service, inventory performance, and financial outcomes. Your Day-to-Day
- Build, maintain, and evolve master schedules and production plans that balance customer service targets, inventory goals, and value-stream capacity
- Drive execution of the Production Control Schedule in SAP, hitting KPIs for on-time delivery, past-due reduction, and strategic pre-build
- Lead master scheduling across your assigned value stream(s); track performance metrics, identify gaps, and take corrective action before they become customer issues
- Contribute to the global SIOP process, translating demand forecasts into executable production and supply plans alongside demand planning partners
- Collaborate with customers, account reps, customer service, purchasing, sourcing, and manufacturing to stabilize demand signals and align supply response
- Monitor supplier KPIs for your value stream(s), diagnose performance gaps, and drive corrective actions that strengthen supply-chain reliability
- Analyze plant capacity — from press operations through final assembly and packaging — and recommend crewing levels and long-range capacity plans
- Lead and support lean and Kaizen initiatives that improve material flow, reduce lead times, and sharpen planning accuracy
- Support new product introductions and maintain master data integrity (materials, routings, work centers) to ensure reliable MRP output
What We're Looking For
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Operations Management, or a related field; equivalent experience considered
- 4+ years of master planning or production planning experience in a high-mix, low-volume or engineered-to-order manufacturing environment; experience supporting $50M+ value streams preferred
- Hands-on ERP/MRP experience; SAP strongly preferred
- Solid command of MRP logic, BOMs, routings, lead-time management, and capacity planning
- Advanced Excel and planning tool proficiency with a data-driven approach to problem-solving
- Demonstrated ability to influence cross-functional teams and align internal and external stakeholders
Preferred
- Experience with lean manufacturing tools, production scheduling software, or APS systems
- APICS/CPIM or equivalent supply chain certification
- Familiarity with change management, MOC, or new product introduction/PLM processes
