Location

This position is based at our Londonderry, NH facility and requires daily on-site presence.

Accountabilities and scope

  • Cross-functional interfaces: Collaborate frequently with department managers and operations leadership; partner closely with finance, purchasing, and production to maintain financial integrity and alignment.
  • Decision-making: Exercise independent judgment within established accounting policies and procedures; surface complex or strategic issues to the VP of Finance for direction.
  • Impact of accuracy: Mistakes can lead to misstated financials, audit findings, or compliance concerns—precision and vigilance are essential.

Key responsibilities

  • Own the month-end and quarter-end close cycles, including thorough reconciliations, while meeting public company compliance standards.
  • Assist in preparing income statements, balance sheets, and cash flow statements in accordance with internal controls, SOX requirements, and U.S. GAAP; support required filings.
  • Analyze actuals versus budget, investigating expense variances and trends.
  • Maintain the general ledger, recording, tracking, and reconciling both routine and complex transactions.
  • Deliver analytical insights and strategic recommendations that inform business decisions.
  • Process and reconcile payroll; partner with HR on off-cycle payroll requests.
  • Prepare audit documentation and narratives; ensure adherence to SOX and internal control frameworks.
  • Identify and implement automation and process improvements to drive efficiency.
  • Oversee day-to-day accounting operations, partnering with the team’s AP/AR clerk.
  • Complete monthly balance sheet account reconciliations with clear, supportable tie-outs.

Knowledge and skills

  • Data-driven decision-maker with strong critical thinking and problem-solving capability.
  • Clear, confident communicator able to present financial results to stakeholders.
  • Advanced MS Office proficiency, including Excel, PowerPoint, and Access.
  • Excel expertise: VLOOKUP, XLOOKUP, PivotTables, and related formula-driven analysis.
  • Experience with Syteline preferred; familiarity with NetSuite, SAP, or Epicor a plus.
  • Solid command of GAAP; CPA preferred.
  • Comfort working with large datasets and performing cost analyses.
  • Strong quantitative aptitude and knowledge of statistical/cost techniques.
  • Collaborative team player who can also operate independently.
  • Highly organized, calm under pressure, and deadline-focused; positive, can-do attitude.

Complexity and problem solving

Tackle complex issues requiring deep analysis of variable factors. Select and adapt methods to new assignments, applying judgment to evaluate and refine sophisticated techniques and criteria. Work is reviewed for alignment with departmental objectives upon completion.

Education and experience

  • Bachelor’s degree with 5 years of related experience; or Master’s degree with 3 years; or equivalent experience.
  • Background in a public company environment.
