ROLE SUMMARY

The Senior Manager, Research Sample Solutions Product Manager is responsible for delivering and evolving digital capabilities that enable the end-to-end lifecycle of research materials across discovery and preclinical development globally. This includes solution ownership for systems supporting material registration, inventory, distribution, sample logistics, and associated data workflows.

This role acts as a strategic partner to scientific stakeholders, translating research needs into scalable, compliant, and high-impact digital solutions that enhance data quality, operational efficiency, and speed to first-in-human studies.

ROLE RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Support Research Sample Solution Portfolio
    Own the roadmap and vision for products supporting research materials (e.g., compound/sample registration, inventory, logistics, and tracking).
  • Partner with Scientific Leaders
    Collaborate closely with chemistry, biology, DMPK, and translational teams to understand evolving needs and ensure solutions are aligned to scientific workflows and priorities.
  • Drive Digital Product Delivery
    Oversee delivery of enhancements, integrations, and new capabilities across commercial (COTS) and custom solutions, assembling limited duration cross-functional teams and ensuring high quality and user adoption.
  • Financial Management
    Manage the product ideation, delivery, and support spend for solution delivery projects to meet financial goals.
  • Operational Excellence & Support
    Ensure capture and maintenance of clear, accurate, complete, and testable product requirements, translating complex scientific and operational needs into well‑structured epics, user stories, and acceptance criteria.
  • Life-Cycle Management
    Ensure reliable system performance, user support, and continuous improvement through metrics, feedback loops, and service management practices.
  • Vendor & Stakeholder Management
    Manage relationships with external vendors and internal partners to drive value, performance, and alignment with Pfizer standards.
  • Compliance & Risk Management
    Ensure adherence to Pfizer SDLC SOPs as well as data integrity, security, and regulatory expectations across all systems and processes.
  • Communication
    Communicate product direction and outcomes clearly to scientific leadership, operations partners, and technology stakeholders.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

  • B.S. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Chemistry, or Life Science.
  • 6+ years of experience with small molecule compound inventory management processes and software
  • Demonstrated ability to lead small teams of contract resources
  • Ability to collaborate with and influence cross-functional scientific and technical teams
  • Strong focus on delivering excellent user experience

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • M.S./Ph.D. in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Chemistry, or Life Science.
  • Experience with large molecule and/or biospecimen sample logistics
  • Strong software development expertise
  • Knowledge of relational/non-relational database and cloud technologies (ORACLE, MongoDB, AWS, S3, EC2)
  • Strong familiarity with industry-standard small molecule inventory management tools from vendors such as Titian, Scigilian, etc.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $124,400.00 to $207,400.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 17.5% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
