Job Description

The Senior Manager, Business Development is responsible for leading strategic growth initiatives and capture execution for Energetics products within the Defense and Aerospace business unit. The role operates with a high degree of autonomy, drives outcomes across multiple programs or accounts, and influences both functional and business strategy.

This position is a senior individual contributor role with demonstrated leadership scope and includes a clear path to people leadership as the business grows.

What You'll Do

Strategy & Growth Execution

  • Develop and execute program‑level growth strategies aligned with TDY Energetics US business objectives.
  • Lead opportunity shaping, design‑win capture, and long‑term program positioning across assigned customers and platforms.
  • Translate market trends into capture strategies and prioritized opportunities.
  • Provide input to product roadmap, technology investment, and NPI decisions.

Customer & Capture Leadership

  • Serve as the primary customer interface for assigned opportunities.
  • Build and maintain trusted relationships with defense primes, integrators, and government stakeholders at the program, and technical levels.
  • Lead complex sales cycles requiring coordination across Engineering, Product Management, Operations, Program Management, and Finance.
  • Represent Energetics capabilities in customer meetings, program reviews, and industry forums.

Operational & Cross‑Functional Influence

  • Own opportunity pipeline development, forecasting accuracy, and bookings visibility for assigned scope.
  • Drive disciplined execution of BD processes supporting operating reviews, and annual operating planning.

What You Need

  • Bachelor's degree in business, marketing, technical, or related discipline; MBA preferred.
  • 3-5 years in Business Development, Sales, or Program Management within the Defense industry.
  • Proven ability to influence cross‑functional teams without direct authority.
  • Executive‑level communication and presentation skills.
  • Strong understanding of Defense acquisition processes, customer funding structures, and program lifecycles.
  • Travel required estimated at 50% of the time.
  • Please note that due to the requirements from the Department of Energy, U.S. CITIZENSHIP IS REQUIRED.
