We are a leading industrial parts distribution company for products including bearings; mechanical power transmission; electrical and industrial automation; hose, belting etc.  with a robust custom-built application platform integrating sales, supply chain, inventory, CRM, and data integration processes. Our core technology stack includes Java, COBOL, and DB2, supporting mission-critical operations across multiple regions.

Role Overview:

The Senior Application Support Lead will be responsible for overseeing the support and optimization of our enterprise business applications that include a mix of custom-built systems such as OMS and industry leading SaaS applications such as Manhattan, Dynamics 365, Google Cloud among others. This role will work closely with various product teams (Sales, Product Management, Supply Chain, Finance & Inventory, CRM, and Data Integration) and collaborate with a global application support team spread across different Geographies.

You will lead a team of application support engineers to deliver services in an onshore/offshore based IT delivery model. You will leverage your strong technical expertise in Java, Google Cloud applications, Services architecture, Azure, Quarkus/Spring boot to ensure that business applications run smooth application, drive a high level of performance and functionality, and troubleshoot complex business problems. Strong leadership, collaboration project management and communication skills are essential, as you’ll act as a liaison between the business teams, IT leadership and global technical delivery teams.

Key Responsibilities and skills:

  • Techno functional Expertise on developing, supporting and maintain critical tier 1 business applications such as sales, order management, payments, warehouse operations, inventory management systems.
  • Strong experience as an onshore delivery lead working exclusively in an onsite/offshore/nearshore based model with a major IT service provider.

  • Ability to improve delivery speed, solution quality by leveraging GenAI and automation tools.

  • You have advanced knowledge of Java, Java Script, REACT, Cloud based application development.
  • Collaborate with global application support teams to resolve issues, escalate critical incidents, and implement solutions.
  • Work closely with product teams (Sales, Product Management, Supply Chain, Inventory, CRM, and Data Integration) to understand business needs and align them with technology delivery.
  • Lead application troubleshooting, maintenance, debugging, and performance tuning efforts to optimize the system’s performance.
  • Participate in DevOps practices, with a strong focus on Microsoft Azure DevOps pipelines, deployment, and automation.
  • Engage in incident management and root cause analysis to prevent future system disruptions.
  • Participate in project management and business analysis tasks.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives and system upgrades, ensuring best practices and modern technologies are implemented.

  • Preferred experience in these technologies:
    • Java (Spring boot, Quarkus, Java 7/21)
    • Java Script
    • EXTJS JavaScript framework or React
    • REACT
    • Node JS
    • SQL /DB2 skills
    • Middle tier development including experience with Stored procedures. (Full Stack)
    • Database knowledge to architect robust solutions
    • Mongo DB
    • Google Cloud Experience (PUBSUB, Cloud Run, GKE, Cloud Storage)
    • Terraform
    • Azure Pipelines
  • Experience with working with ERP systems and Supply Chain apps is a plus.
  • Expertise on tools like Azure Dev Ops/GITHUB deployments

JOB DUTIES:

  • Design and constructs moderately complex interfaces between ERP and legacy systems.
  • Use back-end programming languages, as well as front-end script languages to optimize performance, scalability, and security.
  • Code programming logic for new or existing solutions software or applications in accordance with design specifications put in place by senior software development staff and leadership.
  • Handles installation, configuration, development, workflow design, monitoring, and/or upgrade of assigned software products.
  • Monitors quality and performance of applications through testing and maintenance.
  • Maintains up-to-date records of issues with existing code.
  • Suggests viable solutions to resolve issues with existing software.
  • Provide expert-level technical support for a complex, custom-built supply chain applications. 

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE:

  • Typically requires a bachelor’s degree in computer science, software engineering, or a related field.
  • 10+ years of experience and Java, JavaScript and SQL
