The Benefits team empowers employees by providing comprehensive access to benefit plans and programs that promote proactive ownership of their health and overall well-being.

In this individual contributor role, you will report directly to the Director, Benefits, and have broad exposure to all facets of benefits administration and operations in a highly hands-on environment where most activities are managed in-house. Youll play an active role in key processes such as RFPs, contract negotiations, implementations, day-to-day administration, problem resolution, system testing, and special projectsincluding annual events like open enrollment.

What youll do

  • Develop and manage benefits programs, including retirement plans, health and welfare benefits, and wellness initiatives.
  • Analyze and report on benefits program performance, to identify trends, opportunities, and areas for improvement.
  • Lead benefits-related employee communications including enrollment guides, presentations, Workday enrollment content, internal knowledge articles, virtual benefits fair materials, wellbeing program updates, and employee email campaigns.
  • Manage ACA compliance reporting in partnership with the ACA vendor.
  • Develop and maintain process documentation and standard operating procedures to ensure consistency and efficiency.
  • Manage relationships with benefit vendors and consultants, driving performance and service excellence.
  • Support annual Open Enrollment for COBRA and active employees, including planning and execution activities.
  • Provide audit support for internal and external reviews, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Contribute to ad-hoc projects and process improvements as needed.

What you have

To ensure we fulfill our promise of challenging the status quo, this role has specific qualifications candidates should have for success:

Required Qualifications:

  • 5-10 years of experience managing diverse benefit programs, including medical, prescription, dental, vision, life insurance, wellness, EAP, flexible spending plans, COBRA, and HSAs.
  • Hands-on experience with benefits administration and operations, such as billing, invoice processing, and wire transfers.
  • Experience with benefits software and HRIS systems.
  • Strong knowledge of benefits regulations and compliance requirements.
  • Deep functional and technical understanding of benefit plans and programs.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Workday experience preferred.
  • Advanced skills in MS Office suite.
  • Proven ability to deliver high-quality work on time and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Demonstrated capacity to learn quickly, improve processes, and drive operational efficiency.
  • Skilled at managing multiple projects simultaneously, ensuring progress and providing clear status updates to stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently in a lean, high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify root causes and recommend solutions.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and project management skills.
  • Adaptable and thrives in a service-focused, dynamic environment.
  • Exceptional written communication skills; able to draft clear, concise, and professional emails.
