Role OverviewAs a Senior Maintenance Technician, you serve as a technical leader within the community's maintenance team. You provide advanced troubleshooting and repair skills, mentor junior technicians, support the Service Manager, and help ensure the property remains safe, functional, and well‑maintained.ResponsibilitiesMentor and support Service Technicians and assist in leading maintenance operations.Serve as acting lead in the Service Manager's absence.Diagnose and repair advanced issues in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliances, and general building systems.Address unsafe conditions and ensure timely corrective action by the team.Monitor and report on building and security systems, including automatic doors and cameras.Perform and oversee preventative maintenance on HVAC and building equipment.Manage inventory of tools, supplies, and spare parts.Participate in on-call rotations and respond to property and resident emergencies.Provide professional, high-quality customer service to residents.Document all work completed and report recurring issues.QualificationsUniversal EPA certification is required; CPO is preferred.High school diploma or equivalent required.3-5+ years of experience in maintenance, facilities, or multifamily housing.Advanced skills in electrical, plumbing, HVAC, appliance repair, and general building systems.Ability to mentor staff and support daily departmental leadership.Strong troubleshooting, communication, and customer-service abilities.Ability to safely use tools, lift heavy items, climb ladders, and work in various weather conditions.Willingness to participate in on-call and emergency response schedules.Pay Range$27-$30 USDEqual Opportunity EmployerCortland is an equal-opportunity employer and encourages diverse applicants.
